I used to be a big G'n'fn'R fan mainly for Slash's screaming solos... I'm a huge guitar fan, and really miss the days of long drawn out intros, and screaming solos...

Well, its really not the best solo or video out there, but considering no one does anything close anymore the new Avenged Sevenfold video reminded me a lot of G'N'R... plus the song is pretty cool...

Closer, have you ever heard of a guitarist by the name of John Nitzinger? He used to be with some rock band, had health problems and is now recovering. He lives here in Fort Worth and we saw him not long ago, he openned for Delbert McClinton. It was a little loud for the Bass Hall, an opera house, but the guy can really play. I enjoyed watching and listening to him. My wife had to cover her ears.

 

No, but I'll have to look him up. My current guitar hero is Joe Bonamassa. He's a little more of a bluesman (often grouped with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Jonny Lang), but still incorporates some rock into it, and yet at the same time can pick up a dobro, and chicken pick with the best...
