That's funny because I can always find my way without navigation or pulling over and asking someone. If I'm a passenger and the driver wants to pull over and ask directions I get pissed cause I know I can find the destination.
Do you have a laptop? If so, from what I understand, Microsoft Streets & Trips(I think is the name) is a nice program that comes with a GPS reciever. You can plot your course and it tell you where and when to turn through the speakers on the laptop.
I work with 3 or 4 fellas that bought this and they all absolutely LOVE it.
If you can go this route, I've seen the program and unit on sale for $109.

Yeah, but the van knows where it is.
Yea I have a laptop and the GPS unit for the streets program but I was looking for simple and portable for the wife.
The laptop isnt the greatest thing to leave in the car.
Thx again guys.

I purchased the Nuvi 350 about 2 weeks back. I paid $603shipped. It has an internal battery, and can work for about 6-8 hours before it needs recharging. It's only about the size of a deck of cards. Sticks to the windshield with a suction cup. Enter an address via the touch screen, and off you go. It gives turn by turn directions, via internal speakers, even announces the streets by name. The best feature is a "what's near me" button. You can search for just about anything you need, gas stations, motels, ATMs, shopping centers, grocery stores, its fantastic. It makes a list and you pick the place and it gives you directions to the new place you chose. Very accurate - if you miss a turn, or decide not to drive the roads it suggests, it re-calculates the route in seconds and gets you back on route. It also has many other non navigation features such as a MP3 player, audio book reader, language translator - its amazing the info it displays. The display is bright and can be read in sunlight. It was worth every dollar - small, portable, no wires, fits in a shirt pocket.

I've got telenav on my phone. It works pretty good. You can search for cheapest gas. I think its like 10 dollars a month. It downloads the maps off the internet. It says street names also.

I have the Garmin StreetPilot c340 and love it. It works excellent and extremely accurate and will get you about anywhere you could ever think of going…
I found the best prices at www.newegg.com and that is where I purchased my GPS.

Corky,
If you are still around I have the 520 and have it working now. (A challenge developed dealing with the ebay vendor but Navman was great)
It seems to work great.
Nice recommendation.
