Here is all the research you need....

1 - Splenda is a 1 for 1 sugar substitute.
2 - Splenda 1 lb (equivilent) bag = $7.99
3 - Sugar 1 lb bag = $1.99

I'm not saying I can't afford Splenda because I can.
I'd just have to use the same coffee grounds all week.

I found this...

Before we get started, let us state clearly:

If you are experiencing any of the listed symptoms, regardless of your belief that sucralose (Splenda) is the cause, be sure to speak with your physician. The listed symptoms can be caused by allergic reaction, disease, illness, or a condition that requires medical treatment. Be sure to mention your suspicions concerning sucralose, if appropriate.
In response to the studies about the dangers of saccharin and, more recently, aspartame (NutraSweet), along came Splenda. Splenda is the marketing name for sucralose.

Sucralose is a chlorinated sucrose derivative used as an artificial sweetener. It is sold in packets and in bulk for home use under the tradename Splenda, and is used in thousands of products. It's everywhere and, according to reports from our visitors, so are the problems arising from its use.

The problem with sucralose, as it was with aspartame, is that it was rushed through the FDA approval processes without thorough, long-term, independent testing to prove or disprove its potential health hazards. The information is only now being considered by independent organizations and watch groups.

Based upon information supplied to us by our visitors, we note the following possible side effects from consumption of sucralose:

In addition, the following possible side effects are being reported more often, although not with the same degree of frequency as those listed above:

Jamz...I am an engineer.....not a medical doctor....I would suggest taking your wife off of that Splenda though....especially since she is pregnant.....I would also consult with your family physician about it if you are worried......I know I will not take any Splenda.....I make sure to check the ingrediants of everything I eat because some foods are using sucralose as a sugar substitute.....it has been know to do some serious mind-altering (in a negative way).....which makes me very surprised that it is still on the market.....

I have already started forwarding the stuff I find to her. I have never liked the crap, and believe if you cant have sugar (natural ingredient) then you dont need sugar at all. I dont use suger (anymore) or any type of sugar additive, except what's in diet drinks, and I'm sure they have stuff in it I should be putting in my body as well.

          Thanks for the heads up.

I use 2 to 3 in a Venti sized coffee (only one in your average cup of coffee)and four in my oatmeal, so that's about 8 to 10 splendas per day and I have none of the symptoms listed.

It's sugar with a chlorine atom added.

If it kills me, so be it. So could a billion other things.

I was told once by a very knowledgable fellow that thse substitutes cause a blood sugar imbalance. The body releases insulin where its not needed.

Man, Im glad you posted this morning. I have been mixing splenda with ice tea the last couple of weeks and have been very tired and unable to concentrate at work. You post made me sit back and think about my symtoms and the fact the one of the only things that has changed in my life the last couple of weeks was the comsumption of the splenda. I am extremely allergic to aspertame as it gives me really bad headaches. Im off the splenda and looking for improvement in my condition.

          Thanks!
