Well, I can honestly say, I may not have the skills and talent that you have, but I can weld a pretty nice bead with an arc or mig. Those are the only 2 I have ever used. I'd like to learn tig.

tigging takes 4 limbs that can work independantly..
one hand for the torch..one for the filler wire..
one foot for the "gas pedal"
and the other foot (if your welding pipe) to run the speed of the positioner..

up to it?

A local repair shop has been holding welding classes for the past year on and off. I finally got on the list for their Oct class. It's only $25 for supplies. I'm excited. And my friend's dad just bought a kick-butt welder. I dont know a lot about it but I know you put it on a trailer.

heck yeah. What is the starting pay for a beginner welder these days? I need a career change .. BAD!

well around here if your any good...
know the diffrent alloys..
know how to weld all phases and pass the test..

18-22$ hr...

and you have to be able read weldment prints too..

...zap!

I can always check around here for some type of cert classes and see where it takes me.
