Cool, I was wondering if you got that 10 bucks.

Hey UC....give me a link to a cheap place to get Tow straps...

I have one but it is only 10 or 12,000 lbs.

I found a 30k one for $50 bucks...not too bad

Shoulda asked me last week. Could have picked you up a nice strap for a great deal at the Truck Fest as had. I think I got mine for $40.

Best I can do.

Is a receiver recover hitch really necessary?

I figured I'd just use the pin through the hit and attach to that if necessary. Dumb idea?

I doubt I need it as the trails will likely be very easy

Good Question Vader. My only question would be; is the pin strong enough?

I dont have a receiver (too much clearance loss). I just use tow hooks mounted to the frame.

Maybe you could ditch the hitch pin and get a similar sized Grade 8 Nut and Bolt.

Dont use a stainless Pin. That option has now been ruled out.

Pretty much. I think there are some stainless types that are strong but your typical store-bought stainless isn't
