Does anyone remember their quality issues with their first cars sold here? Delving into trucks may go the same way. That's why they offer that monster warranty.

Hyundai/Kia is coming up by leaps and bounds. In fact, Korea is coming up by leaps and bounds. It is believed in teh next 3-5 years,Sony will be displaced from number one by Samsung or LG electronics. LG is already chipping away at Whirlpool's lead in appliances (And I thought they only made TV's & cell phones, but- LG is the number one appliance manufacturer in the World; Whirlpool is a comfortable lead in the lucrative US market though)

I read about the Full size SUV that Kia and Hyundai have coming to the market soon. Rumored to be in the Tahoe ball park as far as size. Motor trend made the comment effectively stating, 'Without a V8, Hyundai need not apply'. I agree- I saw the concept, and it looks stylish and futuristic. You guys may chuckle now, but with that 10 year, 100,000 warranty, decent engineering, a nice lookign package, and cheaper prices... If you think they won't sell trucks and large SUV's in this country, you are fooling yourselves. You may not see them replace Expeditions and Tahoe's, but for those young couples, with 2-3 kids and currently driving Hyundai Tucson's & Santa Fe's, and Kia Sorento's- this will represent an upgrade vehicle that GM or Ford "may" have gotten...

If I didn't think my friends would have laughed at me, I'd drive that Hyundai Azzera or the Big Kia (I can't remember its name). While I saw some very nice Hyundai vehicles in Korea (that have yet to land on US shores), for $32,000 I think I'll look a little harder, but- that's me...

I realize their products are far superior now in conparison to what they did in the past. It'll take some trial and error on their part though in order to work out the kinks. I wouldn't want to buy one of the first three years worth of trucks built. Not that I would even consider it.

thats the same with the Titan and Tundra.

Growing pains.

But when Hyundai comes out with a loaded V8 crewcab at $20k, heads will turn. Even if it is a POS because its a POS with a 10 year warranty

Well my boyfriend has owned his 2003 hyundai tiburon since brand new and we have no had any problems as of yet..knock on wood. I'd be interested to see how their new truck will look. I own a ford and love it but I also like toyota trucks so I could go any way for my next vehicle/truck

Well Alex, if you like Toyota's, you're going to love the new Tundra when it comes out...

Gone is that BS about it being 7/8th the size if the F-150. Based on the reading, it'll probably be 9/8th's or 1 & 1/8th of the CURRENT F-150.

the only problem is the fact that the current Tundra (if properly equipped) is a great looking truck, where as the new Tundra is ugly's big brother nomatter how you cut it, nomatter the lighting, the angle, or the color.

But, heck, people buy titans too...some people will buy anything that says Made in Japan on it regardless of how insanely ugly it is

Ugly is subjective...

I'd drive it...

F-150 (SuperCrew)

I have driven new Hyundai's numerous times as rental vehicles, and have actually found them to be pretty decent little cars.

That being said, he11 would have to freeze over before I would purchase one. Right or wrong, for most folks in my generation "Hyundai" will always be synonymous with "POS" and I have no interest in owning a "POS"....

I guess it's kind of the same mindset that causes folks who became endeared with Toyota's or Honda's over Pinto's and Vega's the '70's to reject anything the American manufacturer's bring to market today.

Yeah, my friends had a Hyundai Excel in 1988 when they went off to college. They've had 20 years to work out the kinks, but you're right, once you get something in your mind, it's hard to purge it... It was pretty durable though, we ran it hard from Baton Rouge, LA to Waterproof, LA (100 MPH almost the entire trip), slowing down only in Natchez, MS and Vidalia, LA ~cops~. It lasted them for that whole time, until my friend's brother got T-Boned in it, and it got totaled (1992).

As much as I LOVED the Chrysler 300 SRT-8, and the Magnum, and believed I would get one, when push came to shove, I bought an Acura instead. I just can't forgive Chrysler for the Reliant, Dynasty, K-Car, New Yorker, Strutus, Cirrus, and more... I'd like to think I'd own one; in fact, I know I'd have bought that Cherokee SRT-8, had I been thinking about it; but I can definitely understand how Hyundai woudl give one a second thought...

But, that doesn't mean others will have the same hang-ups. In fact, we almost bought a Hyundai Tiburon as a 3rd car, back in 1999. Something to beat the crap out of, rack up the miles on, and save our good vehicles...
