That's crazy for one truck. I mean mines high, but I'm insurin 4. Also cool that the Broncos are considered "station wagons" and arn't priced as high as a truck. The diesel is a killer though.

Fair, When I was 17 I never had any accidents or tickets. I didn't think it was fair that I had to pay $1,600 a year for liability on a $400 piece of crap. I keep my record clean and I'm now married with two kids and I'm 33. I have two cars and I pay 1200 a year my new truck and my wife's Bonneville.I would guess your accident was 5 points and your speeding ticket was another 4 or 5 points Thus being 9 or 10 points on your record. It's drivers with a record like yours that causes higher rates for every one in your age bracket.

Not trying to come off mean, but you wonder why your rate is high.
I didn't thing it was fair I had to pay a high rate for bad drivers.

Drive more responsible and suck it up.

Some body sounds bitter.

You paid that rate because you were hi-risk. You were high risk, because you were a new driver, and we all know that most new drivers suck.

I think $6000 anually is a bit high for 1 accident and 1 speeding ticket.

I don't know if you have the company in NV, but try Farm Bureau. They have the best Home Owners rates in TN period! My wife (04 Mazda 6 sportwagon) and myself (06 F150 XLT 4.6L 2wd) pay $3000 for full coverage on both, and I have a 3 year old DUI, so I still have to carry SR22 insurance as well. I'm over 25 yo, I'm married, and we have our homeowners, life, and auto insurance w/ Farm Bureau, but when we first started using them we were not married and did not have the house yet.

WOW after looking at what some of you are paying, I am getting by really cheap. I am 27 and single with no accidents or tickets on my record. here is what I have insured.

04 F150 FX4 SC--full coverage
94 F150 4X4--liablity and comp
05 Focus ZX4--full coverage
04 Yamaha Raptor 660R--full coverage
01 Yamaha Banshee 350--liablity
01 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4X4-full coverage
97 Polaris XC 600-liabilty

I was paying $14XX a year for everything, until I put my girlfriend on my insurance as primary driver of the Focus, she is 24 and has 1 ticket and 1 accident. Now we are paying $18XX. So still pretty cheap, IMO.

I don't wanna step on any toes but I assume you're a female by your name. Names are different than when I was younger. It does seem high based on your sex. You are under 25 and live in a city. If you're single that has a lot to do with it. My son was 20, single, had 2 accidents and was paying $4800 a year for a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There was no collision or comp on his Jeep. Now your new truck is in the $35,000 range so you have to have full coverage. So they're looking at you as a high risk with an expensive vehicle. If my son were to have that truck in S. Jersey it would probably be in the 6 to $8000 range provided he could get insurance on it. He is currently in an insurance pool where some companies are mandated to take hi-risk drivers. No major companies will take him. And remember he only has liabity and no comp or collision. He wrecks his Jeep or it's stolen he gets ZERO.

As for WMR she lives where there are no vehicles. Big difference from there to Vegas.

I must be realy getting riped off then I'm 41 and single and pay a little over 1000 a year on my 2005 XLT with the 5.4 and the truck is only a 4x2. My last ticket was almost 2 years ago and I just had a wreck that I was charged at fault by the insurace 2 months ago so it will probable go up some more with the wreck.

I pay exactly $200(CAD)/month. I'm 21, single, living in a city of 86,000, no tickets/fines. I have been on my own insurance since I was 16 so I have 5 years of flawless *knocks on wood* driving and get a 20% discount.

Guess I'm lucky, 21 2005 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 with renters insurance and it's only 150 a month and that's for twice what the states minimum is.

DOn't feel bad. Allstate just screwed me for $200.00 additional dollars every six months because I am a MALE and listed as the primary driver of a 06 Civic. I am almost 45 and never had a wreck and no tickets in over 12 years.

Good god. I am paying $155 a month for a 2006 F-150 4WD and a 2006 Focus. That's through Progressive. I am switching to Wawanesa, and will be paying $84.00 a month for full coverage on both vehicles, $200 deductible. Of course it helps that I am 27, married, and have no accidents/tickets on my record.
