No more Ford for me.

A small block Ford in a vette? I like Fords and I like Chevys, but the two shouldn't mix. Order a brand new 383 stroker from chevy. A few grand gets a decent engine

You wanna see some expensive Vettes go to http://www.proteam-corvette.com/
He gets top dollar and now he doesn't even put prices on some of them. He now prices some of them at "market value". I've seen the owner every year in Atlantic City at the collector car auction. He buys cheap and sells high. I think his cars are overpriced but he has people to buy them.

The lowest the 'vette ever went was 165 HP in 1975. Show me another '75 vintage car that put out those horsepower numbers.
'63 was the split window.
And it sounds like you've seen Corvette Summer too many times. . . Corvettes and disco are not synonymous. But smiles and Corvettes ARE.

Hey whats going on redlariateer? I have this same user name for everything, so I guess it will have to remain the same. I should have went with something a little less vehicle descriptive.

hey i had the giga coupe. a 135hp with the 302 crammed under the hood. still did 120mph not sure if my truck will do 120mph. of course there is the weight diff. and not just the car and truck lol. I like the old vetts. Not sure i would dump my truck for one but would be nice to have if it didnt need a the work. ohh and only paid 600 for it. since the tranny slipped. due to lack of fluid.

You're missing the point, but showing the reaction I was after. Sure, a new Chevy crate motor would be the easiest way to add power, if that was my only objective. But for years we've all seen hundreds of street rods and race cars...duce coupes to mustangs with Chevy small blocks transplanted into them because they make easy cheap horsepower. I want to get even, strike back, or call it what you want by taking the holy-of-holys Chevrolet and repower it with a Ford small block.
Years ago I had a beautiful '71 GMC Sprint...black, LS5, white stripes on the cowl hood. I used to show it. All I used to hear from the Chevy boys was, "That's just an ElCamino with different badging." I went to a Chevy/Vettefest one sunday...they wouldn't let me in! If I had that Ford-powered Vette I could have entered the show and enjoyed the reaction when I parked and opened the hood. I'd hear the "Oh my Gods" and "How could he do such a things", that's what I'm after...giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Oh I get it. You're doing it out of spite. That's completely different.

I didn't meen to divert this thread. C3's are cool, and because they're the last of the 'low tech' Vettes, the average garage schmuck like me can work on them. I wish I had one again...too bad Ford didn't make a car like the Vette.
