Router Issues, please help...

Well, we bought a new wireless router today and it's giving me a headache. I hooked the router all up and followed the instructions correctly, and it came time for the router itself to connect to the internet and it wouldnt connect. All the lights on the modem that should be lit up are on, same with the router. Everything is plugged in right, but it still wont connect. And before i gave up i restarted everything completely and it is not working. Thanks in advance..

Just to make sure you are on the right page.......I assume you mean the Modem will connect to the Internet but you can't get it to the router or to your PC.....right? The Modem connects to the cable and the router connnects to the modem.

Again sorry if you already knew this but, I wanted to check.

Router is made by Linksys. Yes I'm aware that the dsl line goes into the modem and a line goes out to the router etc, its all hooked up right thanks for checking that though.

Success!!! They should just include that program with the router instead of the software that comes with it... Thanks again vader.

Had the same exact problem it sounds like you had a couple weeks ago. I ran that Netset and it got the connection going seamlessly. That was until I started dinking around with the security settings and had to hard reset the router because I couldn't access it anymore.

I had the same problem setting mine up, several hours later, 3 or four hours with tech support, found an IP conflict with the router and modem.

I agree they should include that setup program on the CD. That was kind of gay to have to go to thier page and download it then hook the router up and install it.

Also dont forget to go get the updated firmware for the router.
