It is not malware. It is the automatic update for windows.

If you want to get rid of it, turn off windows automatic update.

its a malware masquerading as a windows update.

if it loads twice when you CTRL ALT DELETE one of them in the SYSTEM folder is the windows utility, the other one in the OWNER category is hte trojan

Interesting. Hadn't heard that. When I did the search "wuauclt.exe" in google, there were a couple that said they would fix for free. Also Symantec will do a free scan of your system. Takes a while but might be worth a try if your other software let it on and can't remove it.

Spybot doesn't find the majority of malware anymore. I use spyware doctor and ewido now, and find oogles more stuff than with spybot. Spybot doesn't update as often as it used to either. Adaware does a pretty good job still.

is ewido worth the license fee of 30 dollars?

I think so. I can run everything I have, that is free, then always find something of elevated risk with ewido. I often wonder what's on my computer that nothing I have is finding.
