New Camaro....???

I read a short blurb in my latest "Hemming's Muscle Machines" magazine whereby Bob Lutz indicated that GM would have to sell a minimum of 100,000 units to justify the production of the new Camaro.

I don't know about you guys, but that seems like it might be somewhat of an optimistic number for what really is a niche vehicle? I think the Mustang -- which is a certifiable "hit" for FoMoCo -- only sells around 150,000 units in a market where it has no competition.

With the Mustang still around and the Challenger looming on the horizon, I don't know if GM could sell 100,000 units of the new Camaro. What do you think?

i just saw a couple of Challenger's this week. they look ok.

i don't think GM will release the camero. too much of a risk for a company already hurting.

I dont think they could sell that many. Even if they could, it wouldnt surprise me if the still didnt start production on it again. Id like to see it back, but I doubt it ever will come back. I have a tin poster thing that shows a 67 Camaro and a late model Camaro, and I have to chuckle (yet cry) every time I look at it because right below it says "Over 30 years and still going strong!" lol.

I think I remember seeing the Challenger in the paper a few weeks back, I liked the look of it. Sounded like they were pretty serious about it too.
