You need to get out there and get some miles on her, maybe purchase some paddle tires for Pismo. Can you imagine the stares you'd get. Hope we can expect some pics and hopefully a reunion at Pismo on Aug 12/13th if all goes as planned.

I'm not a hater, but the Lightning kicked the SRTs *** in that vid.

Also seems to me, whether it's an SRT or Lightning or SS or whatever, that it would be better to buy a Camaro, or a Mustang, or a Mopar Car and build to suit for speed, and buy a truck to use as, well,....a truck. Yes, it's nice to have a powerful truck, but I haven't understood yet why you'd buy such a heavy, non aerodynamic beast, and then blow massive amounts of dough to try and get 12s on a quarter.

Looks fun, but expensive. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Besides the fact that that thing has a box I dont think it really counts as a truck. Its a close to a 4 door viper as you can buy.

Dodge....

 

In that vid the dodge was barely breaking into the 12's. I wonder if it is stock? (not from what I've seen on the net) If not they don't seem to mod well. There are hundreds of Lightnings with minor mods that get into the mid 12s all day long. From what I've seen a bone stock srt runs mid to low 13s. Really not that fast for 500 horses and 50 grand or so. And the claim of fastest truck is based on the top speed of 150 mph, the lightnings is about 147 or so. Buy a 20 grand Lightning and dump about $1500 into it, then go to the track and walk all over the srt boys. Now that's fun!! Sorry for the rant, but it seems that most of the dodge guys around these parts turn into jerks when they get into their (fake) Hemi rams and such. To each his own, but the dodges are not invincable.

 

The SRT is 500 HP but it weighs 6000 lbs. The Lightning is about 1000 lbs lighter and responds much better to mods.
