Nah, I understand how you feel about your truck. Pink or not, that's not the point.

I had a '79 Nova, and if I could go back and know now, what I didn't know then..I'd still have that car.

So, yeah, get a new frame, and put "him" back together and 100% again.

You could name her Sweet Rose. I wanted to name mine Black Rose, but my wife had heard Billy Joe Shaver's song "Black Rose" so she said not a good idea.

Rather than buy just a frame, why not just buy another 95 4x4 and take the goodies off your Red truck and transfer them to the new one?

Is the crack un-weldable? Is there a chance that you could just weld it, and then see how long it lasts?

I've looked at the pic, and realize it's in a bad place, but still seems like less work than what your suggesting.

Switching over the goodies just doesn't cut it.
Anyway; I wanted to report I got a confirmation from a collision center for commercial trucks, via photo, that they can repair it. I just have to find time during the business day to drive it to their shop for an official estimate.

Well I was wondering why you didn't just have it welded up.

Just make sure they have experince with frames. Welding frames isn't as easy as just laying a bead on it. If you do, then it will crytslize the area around the weld and it will shatter when you hit a pot hole. However it can be welded, Hot rodders and rock crawlers alike cut, bend, weld and customize thier frames all the time.

The only vehicle I regret not keeping is my first vehicle.

I had a new 1996 explorer eddie bauer 4x4. Got it for christmas 95. Electric red metallic over light saddle metallic. It was perfect in every way for me. I give it hell just being 16 at the time and it never once let me down. I have yet to ever see another explorer that was loaded the way mine was, with the factory ford phone and the darker lower tan two tone paint. Damn how I miss it.

No other vehicle will ever be able to live up to what that explorer was in my eyes. So if you like your truck then keep it.

These days vehicles are like Doritos. Use it up, they'll make more.

I understand how someone could be attachet to a vehicle. To someone like that I'd say fix it. I used to become attached to vehicles, but now.... I pay for years then when I finish paying payments, the vehicle needs work. So, I continue paying. I like having a nice vehicle, but whatever that vehicle may be, I'm paying and paying then paying some more.

While I can't say I've had a vehicle I would go as far as changing out frames for, I have had a couple I still miss to this day.
