You want the back end up in the air for haulin. Blocks up front isn't safe IMO. You can spend some real money on an air bag suspension if it really bothers you.

Like I said before, milage isn't gonna get above 15 on the highway downhill at 65. Heck I get 9 in city driving with a 302 automatic (88 bronc). The same engine gets 14 in the same city driving with the M5OD (92 bronc). A manual really helps these beasts. Be glad you don't have a 460 if your worried about MPGs.

Another big factor is your gearing. What is the axle code on the door jam sticker?

Feel free to IM me anytime.

I have a friend who has a 79' maybe?? f-250 flat bed (homemade truck looks good for what he started with but it still is a joke). It has striaght pipe(one of the loudest trucks I've ever heard. It has a modified 400...which is a 89' motor and has been rebuilt and moded. He claims he gets i think it was 18mpg at 70 mph...LOL is this the darndest thing you have ever heard? He likes to fib a lot. I have a 351 Windsor auto in my 1/2 ton F-150 2wd and I only get around 14 or so...I haven't figured it in a while so I'm not for sure if it was 14 or not. That was before I got my licenese and my dad drove it most of the time and lets just say at times he drives a little fast so I'm thinking maybe it might get 1-2 more mpg better.

The guy told me he gutted the stock muffler but left the cats. I cannot find what appears to be cats but I do see screens in muffler is that them? He cut the end of the exaust sticking out the tire off due to rust. I want it louder so I need to figure out if these screens are cats or the muffler. I need to figure out how to fasion a turn down. This is the inside of the muffler where I can see the screen.

Actual muffler where I believe cats are

Rear end note blocks measuring close to 4-4.5 inches I believe.

Front end, note add a leaf or two? The front shackles still have stock sticker on them and the rear shackle I believe is stock not 100% sure though.

This truck probably will be an as I have money type of build. I need to get more power out of it and make it look better. The suspension is a big question to me, I cannot reach the seller and I believe it is a 4in lift. It has trailmaster shocks and I believe is a trailmaster lift. He claimed it was a 6in lift but from my research trailmaster only makes 4in lifts.

Custom bumper, I need susgestions on how to make it look better. I plan to paint it and maybe weld hooks on to the front of it. It currently looks out of wack though. The radiator gaurd hurts my look.

I need a winch up front awfully bad, whats a good winch how many pounds and how much? Im thinking about getting a welder that lives down the road to wrap the bumper in diamond plate, how would that look?

you need a chrome bumper...take that completly off and find a crome bumper on ebay. A buddy of mine with a dodge 2500 found one for $100 and it was within driving distance so he picked it up and saved $50 on shipping...a new paint job and a chrome bumper and that truck wouldn'y look too bad. But if you have to have a whinch a chrome bumper would be useless...get a Warn whinch and it depends on what you need to do with this which....

Yeah, I probably will get a diamond plate bumper. For the paint scheme Im thinking hunter green camo rocker pannels and blacked out tail and head lights. Are the blacked out lights illegal in NC? I need a new thermostat, how good are aftermarket ones such as jet or hypertech? I plan to get a 160 degree one. Is that a good idea? Should I just get stock 160 or leave it whatever it is? Im trying to keep the temps down.

Pre 97 will be better. The F250 forum focuses on the superdutys.
