What engine is it? Can't quite tell from the pic but I think it's a big block.

Nope, just a 318 LA block. This was the very first 318 in this format, and I "think" '99 was the last year of it, which by that time was a Magnum 5.2L.

BTW, old American iron is old American Iron. It doesn't matter to me what's on the grill... actually, come barrett-Jackson time those 5 letters make it worth more. At least used parts seem to go up around that time....

Just giving you shista man, I know you've done this before, you know whats ahead.

Sooooo, how many scratches on the fire wall and inner fenders?

Sure does look pretty though, are you sleeping in bed or the garage tonight?

My wife has a '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.2L, and I don't care what anyone says, it gets that relatively heavy beast up and moving quick!!! I've thought several times about putting a carb on it and dropping it in my Stang.

But then I could never show it off, or even really walk around with my head up high...

NONE!

I dropped the engine and tranny in together with a blanket over the firewall and one over the core support and a towel over the tranny. I was pretty proud to say nothing bad happened...

I haven't decided, but I have found my self standing in the garage a time or two not remembering how I got there... right now I'm going over the pictures the misses took while the engine was going in today.

and no haven't fired it up yet. I gotta make a new fuel line from the pump to the carb, and get the dash wired up (hopefully it will be back from paint next weekend). The fuel line, brake lines, and tranny lines are still a few weeks out, and I'll be ordering a new gas tank this week. But as soon as the wiring is done, and the engine is fully assembled I'll be dropping a line in a gas can. I probably won't be able to wait for the lines and tank to be assembled...

Sweet!!!

I can't remember a single one that I've ever done that didn't have a small accident some where. Either the block or frame or something. Except the DD's that I didn't care about, then somehting might have happened but I didn't care enough to look, much less scour with a 100x's microscope.

I can gurantee you I couldn't wait to fire it up.
Actualy at that point that it is now... I would probably stay up late tonight to drop the Dist. in, run a hot wire straight from the batt to the coil, stick some fuel line in a gas can and hit the starter silenoid with a hot wire just to here the pretty lady sing for a few short seconds.

Dont want to run her long enough to over heat her though.

Gotta' hand it to you, closer -- that looks pretty nice sitting in there!

(Just remember that the little woman has saved the photographs for use when she forces you to sell it on ebay so you can pay for the first year of child care, re-carpet the living room, and paint the kitchen.... )
