Intresting read...

WHAT SENATOR JOHN GLENN SAID:

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.

In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the

month of January. That's just one American city,

about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't

have started this war, state the following:

a. FDR led us into World War II.

b. Germany never attacked us; Japan did.

From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost...

an average of 112,500 per year.

c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.

North Korea never attacked us.

From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost...

an average of 18,334 per year.

d. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.

Vietnam never attacked us.

e. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.

From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost...

an average of 5,800 per year.

f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.

Bosnia never attacked us.

He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three

times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on

multiple occasions.

g. In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush

has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled

al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North

Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who

slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining

about how long the war is taking.

But...

It took less time to take Iraq than it took

Janet Reno

to take the Branch Davidian compound.

That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons

in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find

the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the

Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard

than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his

Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquid****

It took less time to take Iraq than it took

to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB!

The Military morale is high!

The biased media hopes we are too ignorant

to realize the facts--

But Wait...there's more!

JOHN GLENN (ON THE SENATE FLOOR)

Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13

Some people still don't understand why military personnel

do what they do for a living. This exchange between

Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum

is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive

impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one

man's explanation of why men and women in the armed

services do what they do for a living

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what

some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):

"How can you run for Senate

when you've never held a real job?"

Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):

"I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps.

I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions.

My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different

occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my

checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was

not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the

daily cash receipts to the bank."

"I ask you to go with me...as I went the other day...

to a veteran's hospital and look those men in their eyes...

with their mangled bodies, and tell THEM

they didn't hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA

and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans

of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee...

and you look those kids in the eye and tell them

that their DADS didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in

Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends

buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch

those waving flags...

You stand there, and you think about this nation,

and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

What about you?"

For those who don't remember

During WW.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney

representing the Communist Party in the USA.

Now he's a Senator!

If you can read this, thank a teacher.

If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.

It might not be a bad idea to keep this circulating. God, Bless America!!!

HELL YEAH!!!
Unfortunately many who read this who HATE President Bush will not even consider the facts. They are blinded by their own hatred and ignorance to realize that we are in the fight of our lives. The ideology of terrorism is every bit as real as were the threats of Nazism(facism) and communism. The only difference is that terrorism is much more likely to make it here than the other threats were. I'm tired of hearing about how this war was illegal and it's for oil...we AREN'T fighting for oil! If anyone should be tired of this war it's folks like 98lariat4x4 and me who have an active role in it. The troops are tired of political grandstanding and having our good reputations drug through the mud by the likes of Cindy Shehan, Michael Moore, John Kerry, John Murtha and Howard Dean etc....TIRED! They don't speak for this Active Duty member. Anyone out there in internet that is CURRENTLY Active Duty that agrees with them? Post here...I'm just curious.
Land of the FREE, home of the BRAVE. These folks that call themselves our leaders...what a bunch of cowards, none of them have seen ANY bloodshed from this war. Many oif us have and we are determined to win. Oh, that victory will be almost as sweet as it was when I awoke one morning in November 2004 and President Bush had won reelection-in the face of all the aforementioned critics...
Oh and by the way, those SOME BITCHES tortured and decapitated OUR comrades/men over there! Still think we should "cut and run"?

From Snopes.com:

In 2005, someone prefaced the John Glenn/Howard Metzenbaum article with the following item about Iraq. This addendum has nothing to do with John Glenn — it's an anonymous piece that has been floating around the Internet since 2004, but because it has been tacked onto an article about Glenn, readers have been misled into thinking that it is a transcription of something he said:
THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE:

I didn't have time to Snopes it or even say what I'm gonna' say right now... I don't know if any of that stuff is fact. I don't know if John Glenn said it. What I do know is that whoever wrote this makes a pretty good point about history and the present. I also know that the liberals out there, and for anyone else who thins that the military is on easy street and are doing well, it should make you think. I don't want any bleeding hearts crying out for peace in the Middle East, because there is no peace to be found there. These people are our sworn blood enemies, whether we know it, or like it, or even care. They will do everything in their power to kill us, for we are their Satan. Is it not self defense, to return deadly force with deadly force? Military and law enforcement types are taught to gauge temper and intent. Those 2 factors will tell you instantly what you're up against. As a nation, we witnessed it on 9/11. We'd witnessed it before, in Kenya, the USS Cole, the Marine barracks bombing... We'd turned a deaf ear to it. Now, we have a chance to stand up and say that we as a people, a country united together, aren't going to take it anymore. We've sent our sons and daughters to 2 WW's, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm/Shield, and too many smaller conflicts that I don't want to think about, all for naught? We say that too many of ours are dying, and we don't see the results that we think what should. What results do you want to see? Oil prices drop? We'd all love that, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. I don't know what exactly should happen, but I know that as a country we are too selfish to care. Everyone trying to make a buck, to keep ahead of the game... Sometimes we all need to sit back think about the freedoms that we enjoy in this country. People cry about losing their rights... While our troops are over there loosing their limbs to make sure that you have the right to b!tch about it.

I'm not a war monger. I damn sure wish that there was a way to end this peacefully. But they won't let it happen. So we do the best we can to please everyone, and keep coming home with prothestic limbs, and in body bags.

From one Active Duty guy to another... I got your back. What he posted is true, if you don't believe it then you are blind, deaf and dumb! It doesn't matter who wrote it. Allah is Satan! He is a false god and yes that's god with a little 'g'. The real God will judge all those who are slaughtering the innocent. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob...and his Son Jesus Christ. If you want to know what anti-christ is, look around, his spirit is everywhere...and anti-christ revels in radical Islam. To hell with Islam and all those ignorant satanists.

Oh, if you think i'm intolorent just remember that I am practicing MY religion...Christianity. The Ten Commandments state that there is One God and he is a jealous God.

Better than two small blue ones...

BTW, Allah is God... True Islam is to Christianity what Republicans are to Demacrats... They're both their for the same reason, but you sure as Hell couldn't tell by their thoughts or actions...

Radical Islam is no different than radical Christianity... Crusades?

Maybe to you. I pose one fundamental difference...

In Christianity, God sent his only begotten Son to die for the sins of man.

In Islam, Muslims kill "infidels" to honor their god to reach heaven...Allah may be the lord of hell, but he isn't the Lord

BIG difference, sir
