You gotta admire their innovative spirit.

The downside to cheating is, if you get caught, you'll be expelled from the school. I think expulsion from a college in Texas for cheating or plaigarism, puts a freeze on your transcript, and you can't go to any college in TX after that...

That's what I heard anyway...

Another good way to cheat; buy a Treo, and put the notes in your notepad, or- have a friend page you the answers.

I got caught cheating before, not by my teacher, but by my Mom. She found my "cheat sheet" still stapled to the inside of my jacket.

How embarrassing...

As a graduate student in chemistry, one job I have is to TA freshmen chemistry courses. It is sickening how blatantly obvious some kids make their cheating. We've outlawed all calculators that have memory, and all cell phones are to sit on the desk, turned off. So, now we really just have to watch for the "lazy eyes". You'd be surprised how much of that goes on. When I catch someone cheating, I try my damnedest to get them thrown out of school. But the school usually gives them another chance or "probation". Bull****! You cheat once and that's enough in my book to label you as immoral and unethical and your time in college should be over, because it's obviously not for you.

Yep, we had testign centers, staffed with "watchers" to make sure you weren't cheating. With my math courses, we had to have the TI-86, and they would do something to it to clear the memory before going in.

I never knew how to program that damn thing anyway... But, it's hard to cheat with 4-5 people paid to watch you, not to mention a camera watching every row...

Another vote for the TI-86! I could store pages and pages of text in that thing, not to mention the programming of formulas for my design classes, some of which I actually still use.

HP 48S for me! I bought it in 1994 and still use it every day. RPN is the only way to go!

They do not allow programmable calculators in the Professional Engineer's exam now, either. I used to store all sorts of equations in it for exams. It worked great for the quadratic equation.

You don't have to cheat to get through life.

I have never cheated and look at me, I probably got more goats than anybody on this message board.

Me either....

I only had the TI-81 but if I could get a graph to even draw I was thrilled....never found a practical use for it though....once they added letters to math I just mentally shut down.

Casio, CFX-9800G, still in my desk drawer. It's got some stuff still programmed, but it's mostly metal gauge thickness, SAE - Metric conversions... heh bought in 1993, maybe????

From what I've seen at least in the law enforcement spectrum is those who cheated in the academy are really only fn themselves over when it comes time to go out on the street.

I loved my TI-89 in college. I sometimes use it at work although I usually get buy with either Excel or a standard calculator.

Old School. It's all about the TI-84 Plus.

I've got it and love it. And let me tell you one thing, those are some TOUGH SOB's. I've dropped it, squished it, etc and it just keeps on going.
