New door for my F150

Remember back a bit when I vented about my door getting dinged in a parking lot? Well, I went to the adjuster and they agreed to replace the whole door because of the twist in it. The guy said it was the fastest he's ever seen a claim get approved. So! I'm getting a new door. Quote was about $2600CDN, but my deductible is $500, with 2 more free non-fault claims left within 5 years.

Sounds like it worked out good!

Be glad you don't live in Minnesota -- when I lived back there the rules for insurance were such that no matter what happened, if you were involved in an accident, you were partly at fault. If you were in your bed sleeping at 3:00 in the morning, and some drunk ran into your legally parked car out on the street, you were still partly at fault for the accident!

Never understood that BS!

Sounds like some kind of lawyer speak to me.

"It must be your fault because if you didn't own a vehicle, it wouldn't have been involved in an accident."

Actually, I think it was driven by the insurance companies, since every accident there was the potential to spread the cost of the claim across two different policies.

I never liked it though -- since I've been down here in Texas, each accident I've been involved in has either been "all mine" or "all the other guys" fault.

Just makes more sense to me!
