Aside from a few "gray hairs" going through a late-life crisis, the mass-market for that car will call for it to be priced a few grand higher than the current Mustang. Seriously -- how many guys in their 20's and 30's can really afford a 40k+ car......
If it is a limited production car that will increase the price. I don't know if they will pump them out like Mustangs or like Corvettes. But if it has it's own suspension, transmission and other high performance items it has gotta be pushing the $40,000 mark. It does have a 425 horse Hemi in it. Those huge, drilled brake rotors are probably operated by expensive calipers. This thing has gotta be priced a lot more than the Mustang. The wheels and tires alone on this thing musta cost a ton.

I don't know if they're looking to attract the 20 and 30 year olds or those who were around in the Muscle Car era (me ) who now are more financially secure.

That's an excellent point. The younger crowd seems to be gravitating toward the STis and Evos...bang for the buck and all that.

That was the beauty of the original "muscle cars." A hard working, blue collar worker in 1969 could feasibly grab a new GTO, Boss Mustang, Road Runner, Camaro SS, Chevelle SS, etc... Now even young executives have a hard time crunching the numbers to make it work while trying to pay the morgage and fund the family activities.

I seriously doubt whether you will see items like cross-drilled rotors making it onto the production vehicle. DC doesn't need another limited production glamour car -- they already have one in the Viper. They will need this vehicle to sell between 75k and 100k units every year -- no way they will ever reach that kind of sales volume at $40k.....

It is based on the 300, Charger platform. That's why it is so much bigger than the original. Expect it to be a very heavy car also.

It has a lot of appeal, but I don't see it selling the numbers the Mustang has.

It is suppose to appeal to all the retiring boomers with the extra cash and that want a modern muscle car.

Sled...

The wheelbase is actually 4" shorter than the 300. I didn't think it planned on selling as many as the Mustang. My guess was sell about the same amount as the Corvette but be priced less. The one I saw wasn't in the same league as the Mustang. This was a much more hi-performance car.

The Challenger looks terrific. Unlike the Charger, the Challenger concept was styled to look like the classic 1970 version, and it does. The four headlights are small when compared to the current Dodge family style, and both the nose and tail are designed to make the car look as broad as possible. The car's track — the distance between the right and left wheels — is 1 to 2 inches wider than in the Charger and Chrysler 300, whose platform it shares.
I think it was just reworked for this car.

Yeah, you can almost certainly bank on the fact that those wheels, brakes, gauges and taillights won't make it to production... assuming any of it does.
