East Coast drivers . . .
East Coast drivers . . .
I always thought drivers in Lost Angeles were the dumbest (although any time in Jersey I see some amazingly dumb drivers) . . .
well, this explains it:
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - The tiny state of Rhode Island still ranks rock bottom in terms of driving knowledge, according to a national test conducted by GMAC Insurance. Oregon drivers answered the most questions correctly.
Rhode Island ranked last year, also, with an average score of 77. Last year, Oregon's average score was 89, which still placed at the top of the rankings that year.
Based on average scores, northwestern states generally ranked highest while the bottom-ranking states were mostly in the northeast. One exception was Vermont, which ranked third. Washington state drivers ranked second. Drivers in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia ranked at the bottom, with D.C. finishing just ahead of Rhode Island.
Well, there you go. That explains what I've seen while in New Jersey and D.C. I am surprised that Cali didn't rate lowest but I'll accept that as a pleasant surprise.

Your are correct. MD was the next worst right after New york.

As you can see, PA only ranks just four above MD, so the MD drivers must feel pretty at home while driving in PA.
I can't believe that CA is that far up the list. They must not have tested anyone in So. Cal.

I agree there are alot of horrible drivers in New Jersey. Just about every day a curse word stumbles out of my mouth while driving. However, I must say that most of the bad drivers are new "US CITIZENS", if you get my drift.
Those are guest workers.
I find the worst drivers are people yaking on cell phones and drinking Starbucks all at the same time (while trying to drive).

See my Marylander's are idiots thread
Heck half the numbskulls around here couldn't drive in 2" of snow with 4 wheel drive and a plow.
Asking for a lane change signal....well now that's just silly.
But you PA people ain't much better bucko

but as soon as you White Tagger cross into PA you think you own the road. move into the right lane when i come up behind you. it only takes a second to pull over and let me pass. i know i get bad gas millage but I'm not drafting you, i want to drive with out you slowing me down. oh, and if I'm doing 80 and someone comes up on me I'll pull over and let them pass.
EDIT: this goes for you Yellow Taggers also.

Massachusetts drivers are really bad. Of the drivers in Massachusetts, I am the WORST. So, GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!
Yes. It's bad here. I think that there are a lot of people who drive with their heads up thier butt. I'm the bad driver because I get intolerant of the crap that people do and just get ahead of the "pokey peoples parade".
I've never gone anywhere other than on the east coast, but I've found that pretty much everywhere I go, people drive like they have their heads up their butt.

The best way for this country to improve the drivers would be to require that you actually have to pass a driving test every 6years. And all the idiots that cant take the time you use that little lever on the left side of the steering wheel might know what it is after the fail there test. Or if when you renew your license they pass out blinker fluid so that you can top it off when you get to the parking lot. If you dont know what way your going then how can the rest of us. I live in Albany ny and travel all of N.E and the worst place to drive is VT and i dont care what test says they suck slow dont know where their going or what they want to do. Man I hate VT.
