TV on the Fritz... need help from electronic Gurus

Alright electronic gurus.

My 32" tube TV is on the fritz, it works fine but after it's been on for a while the picture gets fuzzy. First I thought it was just a bad cable from the satelite reciver, wiggled it on both ends and didn't change. Switched to the DVD player and it is the same. Turned TV off then right back on and it is clear for a few minutes or an hour or so.

It's almost like a bad or weak signal, it gets a curved line that rolls from top to bottom or several lines that run diagnol. Again turn the TV off, then back on it is clear for a little bit.

It is only 2 years old and I am not in a postion to replace it right now. Well I could if I absolutley had to, but really don't want to. I've never liked the picture on this one anyway.. but still want to wait if I can.

Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Take your palm; extend your fingers as best you can; swing our arm outward and then quickly towards the television set and knock it hard to the side.

That's what I do all the time to computer monitors; works like a charm.

If it works for a while and then screws up it's most likely heat related. The first thing I'd try is to clean the inside of the TV. Note that this is hazardous and may kill you if you screw up. A vacuum with a plastic hose nozzle and a can of compressed air will work. DO NOT touch anything inside, lethal voltage is in there even when the TV is unplugged.
If that does not fix it, Plasma TVs are getting cheap now. Don't bother with repair, TV techs are charging about U$90 an hour. Unless it's a super mega TV worth more than U$500 just replace it.
PS I am extremely offended by use of the term 'Fritz' to indicate malfunctioning equipment.

I just bought an HD 62" dlp projection (1080dpi) for $1100. About 6 weeks ago I bought an HD 50" dlp projection for $800. You can find them cheap. And most of the ones on ebay that say they are broken simply need a new bulb that you can get for between 100-200 bucks. Thats how I got both mine!

And old Tube TV's aren't worth fixing. Your's sounds to be done. Don't get a plasma, unless you want to buy another one in 5 or 6 years

Yey, one more thing to tear into. LOL
Yea I've been in a few sets before, I hate taking the case off.
But you are probably right, it is probably covered in dust in there after 2 years of not being out of the entertainment center. I''ll try that tomarrow.

BTW sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. Kind of funny though.
Atleast you're name isn't Matt, I get tired of everyone stepping on me.

BTW UC, the hand up side the side of it didn't work, that was the first thing I tried after jiggeling the cables.

My buddy just picked up a new 32" tube tv for $259 at Wal-Mart. Excellent picture.
