WASHINGTON

Nissan north america has told its dealers to stop selling 2006 4 cylinder altimas and sentras after reports of engine fires...
the automaker said there has only been 1 reported injury and is investigating the cause of "excessive" oil consumption in the cars engines..
they also stated that 100k have been built between janurary and last month
have the problem...
"if not detected and addressed properly the condition may lead to engine damage which could result in a risk of fire the automaker said...

That's Toyota that's perfect, these are merely Nissans.

when are people going to realize that American cars and trucks are so much better then the forien things that r out there? People are brain washed in thinking that Forign is the way to go, and its not. I freind of mine just got a 07 Toyota Camry and after riding in that car, I would be so much happier off it was a Ford Fusion. The Camry is just a car to go from point A to point B with no fun in it.

Don't buy forien, let the damn things burn on the side of the road and don't look back!

every auto maker will have problems at some time. after all, they are built and designed by humans.

Yes, this problem shut the Altima part of my plant down (Canton) and Altima and Maxima in Smyrna (because they share the paint booth) for 3 1/2 days for a total of 7 shifts a couple of weeks ago plus another 1/2 shift at Canton this week. Decherd strikes again! Trust me, it's not really all that fun walking around with half of the plant not running because a sister plant can't deliver the goods.
