A US state (Texas) is to enlist web users in its fight against illegal immigration by offering live surveillance footage of the Mexican border on the internet.
Web users who spot an apparently illegal crossing will be able to alert the authorities by telephoning a number free of charge.

Now everybody can take part and flood the phone lines with 250 calls about the same illegal coming across... Then, wait and see how long it takes for a BP officer to show up and say, "Yup, someone came across here, alright..."
It's the thought that counts.

so true...
When I was in the Corps. We did what was called a JTF (Joint Task Force) with the DEA. We would setup positions along the border and just wait. When we saw illegal's, we'd radio it in to HQ. A few minutes later, the Border Patrol and DEA was on site. We were there to assist with drug trafficking, but tried to bust everyone.
It was fun too. Of course, during the day when the heat was at it's peek, it sucked then, but when night time came.....WOO-HOO ! ! !
I'd love to do that again.
