Quite frankly, I take anything any government's intelligence agencies tell us with a big chunk of salt.

After all, they only say what they need to say to advance whatever the current agenda is, and when they get caught with their pants down it's time for the spin doctors to polish it off.

I think a few of us here should run for office someday...why don't our leaders
in the House/Senate ever want to tackle those tough issues. Those crimes aren't going on in our country but they are crimes against humanity and if they are true, i'm sure somebody knows. I wish I was rich, I'd make a plan and run for office someday. I'm not saying i've got all the answers but at least i'd have a pair to try to do my part to make the world a better place. I'd start here at home though with illegals and the border. Then move on to other big issues...terrorism, child predators, social security. Frustrating when you know so much evil is going on everywhere and so many turn a blind eye to it

You know, I grew up in Southern Ohio, right on the Ohio river and I do believe i'm a little redneck too. Maybe I'm wrong but i'll say it anyways...This country needs a few more rednecks to stand up and say...STOP! It's time for us to take our country back from the drug dealers, the pedophiles, the homosexuals (that have to parade around waving signs), crooked poloticians and the "Ghetto-fabulous hip-hop culture that is making everyone look like a bunch of a-holes.

 

Unfortunately, while there are many who feel this way, the ones who are willing to stand up and do or even say anything about any of that is few and far between. Maybe after Iran detonates a suitcase nuke on ouir soil a few more people will take notice... What drives me nuts is that during and immediately after 9/11, everyone in New York were New Yorkers. They had a common intrest, and no one was better than anyone else, and they all helped each other out. They showed the thug-hip-gangsta's helping the little old white ladies, and the skinhead-neo-***** helping elderly black people. A few years later, and everything's back to normal. I'd love to see the crime statistics for NY immediately before, during, and after 9/11.

 

Having lived in Korea {South of course} in the late 70’s, during the reign of Kim Il Sung [“Great Leader”] and having seen some of the things that North Korea did as well as talking to some of the South Koreans that were alive during the Korean War, I have to say yes, I can believe it. I hope not, but unfortunately it is possible. I went down into the tunnels that the North Koreans had dug under the DMZ and just seeing that was enough to scare the crap out of me.

As far as cross hair’s on Kim Jung Il, I have some special 168gr JHP handloads that I would be willing to introduce him to on a real personal level.

Say what you will, but none of the groups you listed except for maybe some drug dealers are people I percieve as a threat to this country. But make no mistake, if your kids doing drugs, the first people to look at is their parents. It's a cop out to blame others for the failures of parents. If your raising a stable, confident kid that knows their parents love them and are willing to BE a parent, your kid isn't going to look to drugs for anything.

Gays? What's the big deal, why does it bother anyone else who some guy or girl wants to sleep with? In case you hadn't noticed, it's not gays our kids are emulating, and gays aren't the ones targeting their marketing schemes at them.

Ghetto somethings? Have you looked at white folk lately dude? There ain't no hip hop to it, they're just freaking whacked period.

I agree with you say about parents should control their kids. That being said, even with as tight as control that I try to keep on my kids, there are outside sources of influence that I just cannot control. I can teach my child to the best of my abilities to live in what I consider the right way, but ultimitely it's up to him. And all my kids will know that if they've done wrong, and against the values I've raised them with, then I will not stand behind them. I will still love them, for they are my children, but I will not back them in that kind of situation. I am one of the first to stand up and shout about how lack of parenting is ruining this country. But also, I remember the temptations I had growing up, even though I had pretty good parents.
Personally I disagree with homosexuality, and don't want my children exposed to it. It's an abomination in the Church's eyes, and mine. However, as long as they do not impose their beliefs on me or my kids, no harm will come of it.

I'm not sure what exactly you meant be 'look at white folk lately'. Please expund on that topic.

And parenting includes giving your kids the tools to resist temptation, we shouldn't be asking the government to take care of that problem for us lest we dumb down society to allow only what a child can handle.

Nope, no major campuses' for me lately... I live in a small corner of the world surrounded by sailors, missles, and rednecks. Sure there are screwed up people from all races and all walks of life. But the hip-hop, thug-gangbangers-sideways wearing hat-pants hanging the *** out-blingbling crowd is one that I don't understand. Maybe I'm too much of an idealist and expect everyone should live by my rules of 'normalcy', but I cannot fathom why that style of dress, their way of speech, and actions better society. Many people complain about the illegal aliens and how they should learn to speak proper english, but these people speak a language I cannot understand, and they're American citizens. Why isn't the requirement for one language carried across the boards? There's a problem with people speaking Spanish here, and everyone comments on it... But ebonics is accepted? Why?

Drugs can affect kids in ways other than use. It can kill their friends, it brings violence into schools, into public... It's a problem that does need to be handled at a govnt level be cause some parents are not teaching their kids right frim these days.

BTW, I don't drink often. I think in the past year I've had less than a 6 pack of beer.

As for drugs, I agree, some drugs, many drugs are dangerous and harmful, but obviously the "war on drugs" in it's current incarnation is somewhat of a dismal failure. Pretty much every government watchdog group including the GAO has drawn that conclusion, so maybe it's time to sit back, take a deep breath and come up with a new tactic.

Myself, I don't drink at all.

 

i've taught my kids how to say no, shown them the benefits of a "clean" life and they have said no when offered.

but it didn't stop me from informing the local dealer that if i caught him within 10 feet of one of my boys i would shove a 12 gauge in his face and we'd find out together if it was loaded.. it was not a threat, some things are worth fighting for.

pressure from others can be huge, even when proper parenting has been employed some kids are too weak to say no. i know mine can because they have but i know another young man who is now in jail for homicide just because he couldn't say no. he was a fairly good kid just liked to follow the crowd. it is truly sad to end his life for the most part that way.
don't get me wrong if it was my son dead i'd want him in jail forever.
