I'm currently renting a house and searching for one to buy. It hit near 90 the past few days and it's currently EIGHTY FRICKIN SIX degrees in here. My girlfriend is movin in in a couple weeks and she's an eskimo and can't take the heat. So I gotta find a air conditioner to fit a side to side sliding window with a 14.5" opening or it's gonna be a long summer with a miserable hottie. Only units I can find are over $300. Bullocks, I don't plan to be here another summer to warrant spending that kind of money. Looks like I'm going to have to redneck something together, take both sliders out, throw in a $100 AC and fill the hole with plywood. Trust me I wouldn't do this if I owned this house, but I gotta do something. I even tried turning one of the sliders horizontal and they're 1/4 inch too wide to fit. Maybe the heat and job stress are settin me up for a trip to the looney bin.
