So when he got out I tooted the horn and told him what I saw and that I was reporting his plate to the police. His failure to report his version of the accident would be an automatic hit and run charge. Of course, even reporting it would still be an automatic wreckless driving charge for hitting a parked car while driving 40mph

Boy was he ever angry.

Good job, RP!!

And let's not forget that if the guy you helped out had driven down the highway and some idiot called the law on him for having litter fly out! He'd have had to pay a ticket that he never even caused.

I had a similar story to J-150's about the hit and run a couple years ago. The person hit a car that was parked on the street (a side swipe) and kept on going. The place I worked at the time, police were always there working events, so, I just handed them the plate number and told them what I saw. They told me later that they went and confronted the person, who denied it all, of course. They did end up getting them for hit and run, wreckless, and assault on an officer, because apparently, the guy actually tried to push the officers off their porch!

Well done RP.

I have always hated finding garbage in the back of my truck. Finding beer cans in the back has always really pissed me off.

That explains the slight coffee stains in the bed of my truck.....

Thanks RP, from all of us who've had it done to them and never got the chance to get even.

X2!

It has happened to me at least a half dozen times.

I never leave a scrap of anything in the bed of my truck, and to look back there and see some other a$$holes trash absolutely makes me blow a gasket!

I actually made a scene in the office one morning about 6 months ago after I got home the previous night and found a crushed 20 oz. Mountain Dew bottle in the back of it that some jerkoff from work had thrown in it. I mean, they picked up the trash from the parking lot where some other a$$hole just dropped it, and threw it in the back of my truck... probably after they ran over it. I made certain that everyone in the building could hear me threaten physical violence if I ever caught someone doing it again. It hasn't happened again.

They were empty -- I wouldn't have tossed a full cup of coffee into his car (well, I don't think I would've). Another guy saw ALL of this go down and he pulled up beside me. His suggestion was that I go in and buy a can of white paint and dump it on his black two-seater's interior. Naturally, we didn't do this but both got a nice chuckle out of it.

Had to be a Miata. Now, in representation of F150 owners nationwide, I've got a proposal.

Roadtrip to Kentucky, find this guy's Miata, and give him a big, hearty "THANK YOU" by running his car over. We'll need some gnarly lifted F150s on bigass tires, and afterwards we can spend the afternoon playing Tug-O-War with what's left of it. I'll provide the chains, straps, and beer.

Who's in?

My truck would look a little silly with big a$$ tires, but if he mad a run for it I could run him down.

Yep... it was a Miata... a new one though -- a MX-5. Red on black. I told the wife that we should've stuck around and hung out in a corner spot to watch him come back to his car... He probably saw them there, knew I did it, and tossed them on the lot...

I had to make another run to Lowes this evening post-dinner (isn't that the way it always works -- always one part short?)... his car, of course, wasn't there -- neither was the F-150.

Good job!!!

Let's hope he didn't take the frustration out on the other guy's truck when he found the cups back in his car.

Doing what you did may or may not make you a better person but it might (just might, mind you) make the other guy a better person in the future. Maybe he'll think twice about where to toss his trash. Probably not but at least you tried. I applaud you for taking action. All too often people just stand by the wayside and assume that because it is not happening to them it's not their problem. However, simply by their inaction they are perpetuating the problem until some day, some where it could very well be their problem.

Good job RP

Rockpick, you had no business doing that.
That wasn't your truck and you should have left those cups alone.
That guy provided you with a valuable lesson about his perception of the World and you should have learned from it.
I would have.
I would simply empty my ashtray out the window.
I can't help it if a Miata driver's seat was underneath.
