Competition BASS ...

I just installed my new AMP and 10, so I am now looking for some new BASS to go along with it.

I'm old school:

DJ Magic Mike, Tone Loc, 2 Live Crew, Lil Jon, etc....but I want some updated chit.

Know what I'm sayin? Any suggestions?

"Boom Bitty Bye Bye" - Cypress Hill AND the Fugees has a really good Bass line in it. There's tons of other stuff, but I'm probably more in your league with that type of music. 50 Cent and Missy Elliot have some good Bass tunes for recent stuff. BASS 305 has always been good for just straight up BASS tracks. Used to run a couple of their CD's on 2 15" JL's all the time. That was over 10 years ago though.

I fish for bass.........................

AND kick the bass! Majic mike, RUN DMC, NWA, Cypress hill, Mix alot, public enemy, hell even the fat boys, and of course Beasties to name a few Old school groups I still kick it with. I'd cruise in my Probe GT with the 4 12's kicking it and going deaf.

I don't care for the new crap, and it isn't rap. Stick with the old stuff, it is ageless.

About 15 years ago I had this CD. I think it was called Techmaster PEB Bass Computer or something like that

Its a little cheezy but would rattle you fillings loose. I think there are runs that go down to 15 Hz.

The only problem with old school is the production, even on remasters, is not anywhere close to anything done in the last 5 years. Not near as crispy.

Of course, with just a 10, it may be better.

I know it's not really old school, but I liked Dee-Lite. (More groove I guess.)

Old Cameo too.

Let me ask you, because I can't remember who did this, but it is really old school. There was a song that had lyrics that went...

"What is a DJ if he can't scratch?
What is an MC if he can't rap?
What is a beat without a live clap?
Well I can do it all baby just like that?"

I'd love to find it again as the whole album was great.
