We have one, we got the 4-banger for ga mileage. My wife drives it more than I do, but we both love it. It's a sneakily big car. To look at it, one would not believe it's as large as it is.

I recently had the windows tinted, and an alarm put on it. I absolutely Love it; aside from the GT & Mustang, this is the hottest looking car to roll off a Ford assembly line in the last 30 years. IMHO

Yes, it does well.
It's a little rougher at idle, and a wee bit raspy in 1st gear accellerating than it's Honda and Toyota counterparts. But, after that, it gets buttery smooth. Very well done for a 4 banger, and with a 160 HP on tap and 30 MPG Highway, it gets prettier every day! The V-6 would be smoother, I'm not gonna lie to you; but- the 4 cylinder variant is nice as well.

Thanks Bighersh........ That's kind of what I expected and you get what you pay for.....

Anything is better than her 1997 booger green Nissan... Although I have to say it has been a damn good car..... 140,000 miles and still runs strong.....

That's how my wife used to feel...but put her behind the wheel of my Volvo (S60R) and things really change.

I got one as a rent a car on my recent trip to Florida. I am used to driving a Mach 1 all day so it was a big step down at first. I had it for 7 days and in the end I was thinking this would be a nice car to drive around every day.

It had the 4 which handled getting up to sped for the freeway pretty well. I had to check the speedo often as I would consistently be doing 80 and not even know it. It is pretty smooth at high speeds and takes turns pretty well for a 4 door car. Trunk is pretty decent size, interior has alot more room than you would think by looking at the outside. The one we had was like a tanish gold color and I kept thinking how much nicer it would look in a dark color.

As for what you get I can only imagine that we had the base version, pw,pl, keyless entry, fog lights, 6 disc in the dash, power drivers seat, and nice little compartments. One on top of the dash, a two compartment armrest which I liked alot. Stereo sounded better than the Mach 460 system ford put in my Mach 1. It also had the driver info screen on the gauge cluster. About the only thing I think I would have opted for was auto lights, possibly leather, and probably the 6 as the 4 did seem like it was straining a bit.

Sounds like you had a Fusion SE, like we have. Pretty nicely equipped for 19K MSRP. ($We got ours for 16,500.) I am also impressed with the factory stereo in this car. It sounds a HELL of a lot better than the one in our F-150, and at moderate volume, it sounds better than my Bose system in my MDX. It's definitely a deeper and richer sound than the MDX. Imagine my surprise when I popped the truck and found it had no deck speakers. All that sound was emenating from 4 door speakers. Imagine how good a nice set of 6 x 8 4-ways would sound mounted under the rear deck.

I may bling it up one day, and put some chrome 18 or 19" wheels on it, with decent tires- but this car, as is, doesn't need much work; and is very well suited, if not over-qualified, as a daily driver.

HAHA I did the exact same thing when we got to the hotel. I was expecting an amp rack like the 460 system in there. I was shocked when I saw 2 empty holes on the rear deck.

Well we pulled the trigger on the Fusion. Not a bad A to B car. It rolls down the road fairly well. She opted for the five speed which kind of surprised me but, it makes it much more fun to drive. Especially after driving my truck around town. I found myself jumping on the highway and hammering through the gears up to about 80 MPH and not even noticing. Not a bad car for 16K..

I don't have a Fusion, but I think they are awesome cars. I was mad when my company changed from Ford to Chevy and we got the Cobalts. I really like the Cobalt, But I would MUCH rather have the V6 Ford Fusion. I am hoping within a year to be able to replace my soon to be wifes KIA which has not been driven in several months and get the Fusion.
