What should I do???

Please help me out on this one guys...

I had my HU posted in the classified section in the fourms. Some guy wanted to buy my HU and he offered to pay in money order. I agreed and sent him my address so he could send the money order. A day later, he told me he lived in England and we told me these wierd directions of what to do:

"As soon as you cash the money order from your bank, you will deduct your money and send the rest of the funds to the shipping agency ,i will provide you with the shipping instructions and information of how to send the money to the shipping agency. As soon as the shipping arrangements is complete ,you will be contacted by the shipping company so that pick-up can be made."

I suspected this was a scam and told him that and wanted to call off the deal. He than said he wasn't and its too late bc he already sent the money order. Well today, I got 3 money orders, each for $950 ( i only asked for $700???).

What do I do?

Go to my bank or Western Union and see if these money orders are legit?

Send them back?

Just throw them away?

Also, They guy hasn't emailed me since i accused him of a scam (1 and a half ago). If i just sent alot of money somewhere, I'd be on top of it and keep up with the seller. What do I dooooo?

Sure...tell them what happened...if they are not real throw them out...if they are real...take the cash...usually this scam is with a check (Edit: I just re-read it and they are checks...if they clear and you get money (read cash) then keep it and send out the HU...keep the change..), but Western Union should be able to tell you right off if they are real...my guess is they are not..

I knew the desmond Elliot guy was a scam. He is not buying it. This guy, as I said in my post, didnt tell me he was from England until after he sent out the money order.

Since he knows my home address, can he do any harm to me?

Also, what happens if i try to cash these things?

Take them to one of those ghetto check cashing places, dont use your real name and cash them in. Dont send the HU either..now go spend the cash on something nice, like a new place to live since he will hunt you down and hurt you.......

Now say it with me...

S C A M
S C A M
S C A M

Do you really think he was just being a nice guy and decided to send you way more than you asked for.....

Run away from this as fast as you can.

Tell him that you cashed the checks, but in all reality tear them up. Ask him where you are to send his portion of the check. Take a dump in a box, and send it to him OVERNIGHT FED EX using COD.

I put an HU on the classifieds, and have had at least 15 scammer emails. I send them replies like, "stick your scamming fake checks up your fat lazy scammer azz."

Check out http://www.419eater.com/index.htm for ideas on how to have fun with the scammer. Just use your imagination... or let it go and ignore the scammer.

Just a word of advice.

When you answer these guys, they can get your e-mail address, then go from there to as far as stealing your identity.
Rule number one. If it looks too good to be true, it usually is.
Rule number two. Never even bother to reply. There is a button on your keyboard that says Delete. Push it. Then forget about.:santa:
