Nextel Sucks!!!
Most of the people that I know use Cingular. It seems as if Cingular works best in rural Mississippi although CDMA may start working much better now that Verizon recently came here, but CDMA seem poor in rural areas since the only heavy hitters have been Sprint, Cellular South, and Alltel. Nextel is just pathetic in the magnolia state. We use it here at the Nissan plant in Canton, MS for the Direct Connect feature, but if I go about 10 miles north on I-55, then I won't get a signal until I almost get to Memphis. I'm not sure if it works in any cities that aren't near I-55 or I-20, such at Starkville, MS, and I try to go there several times a year for Mississippi State ballgames.
It all depends where you live. Unfortunately, I am stuck doing the 2 cellphone thing (Cingular & Nextel) because I still need cell access when traveling in rural areas (Cingular), but only one carrier works well inside the Nissan plant because there is a repeater only for the iDEN network (Nextel).
