What would you do?
What would you do?
Bitch of the day.
Get this....
*** Communications has sold some of it's markets to Universal Cable Holdings, INC. Our new company name is "Sudden Link Communications". Sounds like a cheap dial-up provider to me. ANYWAY...We are taking calls from California, and North Carolina now. That's cool, right?
Well, we do not have all the neccesary tools to support these customers. I guess they call in for tech support just so we can talk to them?
I had a guy in N.Carolina about 10 minutes ago that has been having trouble for the past week (last week) with his connection dropping. Well, I checked out what I could (tools are limited), and I needed to send an FSR (field service rep) out to have the issue resolved or at least looked into.
I CANT SEND AN FSR OUT ! ! !
I have to call someone at thye local dispatch in N.Carolina to do it for me. No problem right? WRONG. No one ever answers the fooking phone.
So, I ask....What would you do?

Forget about it....dude will call back...odds are he will get someone else other than you....
Well you have a few options:
1. Just forget the call...the guy gets screwed but your headache goes away
2. Keep on calling, get the FSR.
3. #2, then complain (professionally) and document your problems for the high ups.
4. #2, then begin job search.
5. Quit now.
Personally I'd choose #4 but that's because my years on a help desk burned me out and my phone support patience is so low now that I get frustrated pretty quickly when handling phone support and the crap that goes on behind the scenes.
I lasted 4 years (2 as a tech and 2 as a manager) and I was an old-timer when I left

It means, I agree.

Can you not just send an e-mail to the other office? At my office I send an e-mail for EVERYTHING with a read receipt. If I think it might ever be important I keep the read receipt. It has saved my butt several times when someone claims not to have received something only to have me pull out a receipt that shows that the e-mail was opened.
