Wow, punctuation and typing classes are your friend.
Anyways, what are the price/mileage on the Lightning? The lightning probably handles awesome for a truck, (never driven one but my truck drives like a dream so the lightning must be better). Don't let gas prices scare you away, or maybe you should be at www.hondaonline.com or something. In the end you have to make the executive decision. Hopefully a L owner will be around shortly to better fill you in.

After some info on a lightning.
My basic opinions.
Handling is pretty damn good, There was a series of corners that the fastest i took on an old honda 750 motercycle ( new at the time was apx 50 mph with a passenger scraped pipes and foot peg) took the lightning through at apx 45 mph and there was still room for more.
Drives easy a flick of the wrist when truck starts to power slide is all needed for controll. Power is responsive.. right now.
When stock faster that 5.0 mustangs, mine is modded and is faster than stock big block chevy's.
The early lightnings have a spark plug problem ( not enough threads [3] to hold the plugs) fixed on the 03 and 04.
Easy to mod for more power. Change a pully to over drive the blower, cold air return custom tune and you basicly have a high 12 -low 13 second truck.
Interior seats are a different than the regular f150, they are more comfortable and hold you in place better because they are deeper.
The truck holds its value better.
Hope this helps..
edited to add. Gas mileage is about the same as 5.4 4x4. Personally I am not to concerned. Drive mine daily, except in the snow.

The average L driver gets around 13-14mpg... not far from most 5.4 trucks.
Few things that help the L out
1) Suspension - It is lowered from the factory and has more springs out back... so handles better than stock 2-wheel drive trucks.
2) Steering Box - The steering box on the Lightning is slighly quicker than stock F150's... so helps in the corners
3) Sway bars - Has front and rear sway bars. The front sway bar is noticebly larger than stock.
4) Transmission - has the nice transmission
5) Interior - Has a slightly nicer interior (seats).
6) Power - obviously it has a lot more power than stock F150's.
You will have to remember: Insurance, gas, tires as all extra costs on a Lightning.
