Omega watch repair

Anyone know anywhere I can send an Omega watch for repair? My dad's got an Omega Spacemaster he wants to get repaired, but we can't find any place in town to do it. I tried going to Omega's US homepage, but it gave me some weird address and phone number to somewhere in Sweden I think. Any place stateside that anyone knows of to get this thing fixed?

Okay, I google'd around some more and found Precision Watch Repair, says they've been in business since 1923, and they are an authorized Omega repair center. Anyone ever had work done by them before?

What's an Omega Spacemaster? I know of the Seamaster and Speedmaster but I have never heard of a Spacemaster. If it was one of the astronaut style then it is a Speedmaster. Knowing this might help when you talk to the repair shop. Also, is it quartz or automatic? It might just need a new battery. You might check with some of your local jewelers, many carry watches and they might be able to fix your watch.

Hell, I ain't got a clue, it might have been Speedmaster. I'll ask my dad later. I think it's quartz though.

I have a 30 year old Seamaster 600 I just finished inquiring about. If you e-mail Sweden they will give you the closest repair depot and even a name to contact.
OMEGA SA
RUE STÄMPFLI 96
2500 BIENNE 4

They say most repair is on very old watches to clean and adjust. Thirty years is common.

Just on a whim, I typed in Omega watches in MSN's search and the MSN search thing was the first item listed in the results. It showed the "most popular" Omega watches...a Seamaster for $33K, something else for like $8K, and a third one for $41K. Did I read those right? My dad said his was $1100 15 or 20-some odd years ago.

I am pretty sure that those are not correct prices for an Omega watch. I could be wrong, I think they are in the $1,000-$5,000 range, but definitely not in the $30k+ range.

By the way, I saw an Omega at Sam's Club the other day. If you are seriously interested, you may check there to see how their price compares.

Most of those prices seem way high for a new Seamaster. My price list (a few years old) shows the highest priced Seamaster to be $15995.00. It was a gold case with gold band. The next highest was $8995.00. Most are in the $1100.00-3000.00. If you really want an expensive Omega look at the Tourbillon MSRP is $79000.00.

I saw a Discovery HD channel show on Swiss watches. It detailed several custom watch makers building their creations. Think of American Chopper with watches and a lot more class. I never heard the price but one had 2200+ small diamonds on the case. All used the tourbillion style movement, which is regarded as one of the best mechanical time keeping designs ever. It showed how one maker spent several hours rechecking one parts of the movement because his screwdriver slipped a little and might have scratched one of the other pieces. As much as I like my Seamaster after watching that show it looked like chopped liver.

Omega can go from very low to super high versions. I have senn rolexes for 1000 and up an up.

You will need to go to a Omega dealer or reseller and it will have to be shipped out.
