Can anyone give me good news??

My wife's laptop has an error on it. She turned it on and it came up with a Fatal hardware error report. Now I have to get all her files off the HD and take the machine in. I guess the easiest would be to download them to another removable drive. Would my RCA Lyra RD 2854 download the files? It has a 40 GIG HD.

Her laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A70.

You'll have to look at the papers that came with the jukebox and see what files it can store. I can't find anything on it on RCA's website or anywhere else. From what I have read on it there is a good chace that it's not formated to accept any other data besides mp3.

One way to find out would be to drop a copy of a file on it take it to another computer and see if you can retrive it. If you can put it on there, then get it back off, then you'll know that you would beable to back up on it.

I took a chance and tried it. It works just fine, so now I know I have a removable HD of 40 Gigs.

Do you know what kind of error it was? Could be something simple like a bad memory module.
