No, but a logical guess. ET (Group 2).

ETCS(SS/AW).

Only for E8 and E9 selection boards, the ET rating is broken down into 5 groups....
ET(1) - SUB(NON -NUC NAV)
ET(2) - SUB(NON -NUC COMM)
ET(3) - SUB (NUC)
ET(4) - SURF(NUC)
ET(5) - SURF(OTHERS)

I could of just as easy as said COMM ET, but I wanted to see if I'd confuse you.

I served on four boats...my first one was the New York City out of Pearl, and the other three, Nevada, Georgia, and Alaska, out of Bangor.

I did 8 patrols on the Nebraska, and I'm done after this shore duty is over. What are you doing in Texas?

Edit: Sorry to hijack the thread, but it's pretty uncommon to run into a fellow submariner anywhere, except, of course, sub bases...

So that would put you about half way to retirement when your tour is over, correct? Tough choice to make. The remaining 10 years is much easier and quicker IMO.

I work with BUPERS and do much traveling. This duty counts as my sea duty. Another 2.5 years and I'll be calling it quits.
