Home security Video anyone?

I just bought a new house, and I am often out to sea for long periods of time. Fortunatly I have GREAT neihbors with a vested interest in the house, as well as a VERY nosy Mom that lives right down the street. However, more for fun, I want to install a remote video system to monitor the property. The best I found so far is Oz Vision. 4 video 4 audio, and several output controls to control lights and stuff, and can be integrated into home security system. About 1000 bucks for the control, and 100-300 bucks per camera. Does anyone know of a better/different/cheaper system? I want to be able to pull up live video of the inside/outside of my house while I am gone, and possibly spook Mom with the audio output while she's in there cleaning/painting!

Video......

Check out www.x10.com

My brother has bought some things from them and loves it. It's very inexpensive and suppose to be decent quality. There are ways to monitor the cameras from remote locations. I have been thinking about setting them up around the outside of the house.

Also check out Security Cameras Direct at http://www.scdlink.com/shop/. I work with security equipment and surveillance cameras on a daily basis and while we buy most of our stuff and have it installed professionally, this company is great for those odds and end items or the do it yourself project. I just bought a tiny wireless camera and receiver from them for under $100 to use in a hidden camera sting and it worked great.

Jezz, man. You want to spook your Ma while you'r e out to sea? You must be out to lunch. Your poor Ma will think she's hearing your poor drowned a$$ calling from a watery grave. If you do that, I pity you when you eventually get home. Then you just might as well be dead.

haha....I still get a kick out of when my Grandgather stayed in my bedroom for a weekend when I was young. I had those glow in the dark stars on my ceiling. The poor ol' guy kept turning the lights on and off thinking he was going crazy!

Well, I just got a much mo betta home security system. Looks like my mean, nasty, drunk brother will be staying there for a while so he can do some work to his house. That in itself would be good, but his mean and nasty rottweiller will be living there too! This friggin dog would eat a pack of lions if they looked at him wrong!
