Well....my current job I obtained via a referral....my old supervisor (I now hold his position) never even looked more than a quick glance at it.....

What we really need to see is the resume of the guy Bill hired.

I've been asked to start offering resume services for people.
After seeing this.... I am now considering it.
The only way I would even read it was if it was a referal.
If it landed on my desk looking like that with out someone inner office or friend telling me to look at it... it'd probably just get filed and never read. Highly unlikely, infact next to improbable that it would get an interview. Just becasue of the layout.
If I did read it.... Then I likley wouldnt get past the objective. I already know you want the job that I have available... why do you want the job, what can you offer me, why are you better than anyone else? Thats what needs to be there. That's your very first chance at a first impression, don't be scared to be slightly coinceded. You want to grab thier attention and make them want to read more about you.
Use atleast 2 different fonts, but no more than 3.
Use bold, itallic and pt sizes on the text's to empahsize points, and statements or seperate thoughts.

Ask him what his credentials are...why does he know what he's talking about??
When I put my resume together I had it critiqued by a half dozen recruiters; professors; etc.
Lots of good info on the Internet too.
