Motor cycle oil

I was just curious if anyone knows why, as new auto engine oiles are getting lighter (5-20) new motorcycle engine oiles are getting heavier (30-50)?

the only reason is becasue they run at say 14-16 thousand( even higher on some bikes) as oposed to a car or in our case trucks run at like 5-7 redline.. thats the only reason i can think of..
