New here

Hey whats up guys, im new here mainly beacause i just turned 16 and ive been in the market for a truck. I like how the older (97-03) F150s size, and their overall look. Theres a guy down the road here that has an 02 extened cab XLT 4wd V8 thats mint, only 30 thousand miles. he is asking 18000 which i think is pretty high considering the KBB value is about 16,000 but ive looked over the whole body and not a speck of rust. i would be using this truck offroad using the 4wd alot in the NY snow too and lifting it, also i would be hauling my quad and dirtbike to the races. anything to look out for in these trucks, thanks

Welcome.

Not to rain on your parade too much, but that sounds a bit too steep for that truck. Take your time and look around, there are some great deals out there. One of the biggest drawbacks to the "family plan" was resale values for trucks took a dive. This means that you should be able to get a much better deal than that. Then again, I haven't seen the truck first hand, so it might be worth it.

I think it sounds too high as well... don't be in a rush, I looked for six months before I found the right deal... since I was patient, it was a great deal

Hello

Well 10 mins is up.....

We do have an initiation process here.
As far as the initiation requirements, well.... that has been changed.
This site is now PG13 so no naked pic of hootiecans can be posted.
However we do have e-mail.......
Click on the user name on the post to send pics via email to that user.

Initiation is important because we have found that it is the best and quickest way to make friends, gain allies which wil reduce being picked on and help get accurate answers to any questions.

Revised initiation is as follows:
All new members must submit pics of their Girlfriend, Wife or a good friend's Hootie cans via e-mail to intiation review committee. If new member happens to be of female gender then her own Hootie cans are required.

Revised:
ATTENTION
All pics must be of 18 year olds or older.

All initiation submissions must be sent to each member of the selected initiation review committee who are as follows;

trytokeepup, Zaairman, wstahlm80, Jamzwayne, BREWDUDE, vader716, Bartak1, zapster, adrianspeeder and of course myself.

(Note: Any member who has at least 100 post may add them self to the Initiation Review Board at any time prior to candidates submission by simply replying with a post in this thread saying "I am added to the committee".
Once submission has been received by the review committee, candidate is no longer required to send anymore pics to late committee request.)

Again, welcome to the best truck site on the net!
Enough info here to save you countless hours working on your truck plus untold savings in repairs and countless performance tips.

Well though im young, i have pretty good knowlege in autos from being in auto shop class for 3 hours a day for the last 2 years. ive looked over the truck itself, and theres not a speck of rust on it, and it was barely driven by a 75 year old guy which he wanted as a "toy", im guessing for his "lsat years". i have been looking for trucks for the last few months and have checked out the dodge dakota, chevy colorado, tacomas and the silverado, but i like the F150 the most because for real, i dont wanna go offroading in a truck made by toyota, the colorado is too small, and we test drove a 2002 dakota with 8000 miles and it felt like crap. im still looking but i really like the f150 outta all of them so far. i can get some pictures of it too but yeah we think the price is too high, were going to try to bargin with him, but he seems firm.(insert corny joke here)
