IT Guys: Net Send Question

I don't consider myself an IT guy but, I wear that hat here in my small office. I manage 15 nodes (I know... that's tiny).

I do have a need for the NET SEND feature and have tinkered with a few applications that make this simple (versus going to the CMD prompt and going through that).

Does anyone have a specific NET SEND program that they'd recommend to broadcast a message over a LAN/WAN? I'd really like one that shows me the users that are logged in as well but, that's an option that I can live without.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Are these all Windows based PC's?

You could try dotNETSender if so:

I'm sure you've googled for options...its been a few years since I've worked with one....

I just have a batch file (ns.bat) that runs

Net send /domain:<domain name> "%1"

Then I just start, run , ns "This is my message" and click ok

I think it's time to send a domain wide message on what I think of upper management. What do you say?

Thanks guys... they're all XP P boxes. And, yes, XP P's default is DISABLED.

I've tinkered with a couple of the ones that have been posted... anyone have any experience with any particular one of them? Mind you, I just have a simple workgroup. I have one called NETSEND SPOOFER -- it's actually pretety nice but has some flaws -- or something is weird about it. It'll actually show you the computers that are logged into the group and allow you select, individually, which machines recieve the transmission... unfortunately, it doesn't work all that great by my experience.

Thanks again... I'll tinker away and let you guys know...
