Oooops, I sank my Ford

enjoy the pictures, I could not post more than 5 but you should likeit. You need a winch when you are playing in the mud, and you need another guy with one too. Helps a lot.

pretty deep on one side

yep, about 2" over the left rear tire...(35" tire + 6"lift), deep enough to prevent it from moving any further That mile marker winch on the jeep was tougher than I thought.

Actually no, I was surprised. Those fords might be build as submarines. Also I had to get in and out NASCAR style

Glad I am home, I will have to wash off the mud, might take a while.

I've heard good things about Mile Marker winches. Where are they made anyway? Please don't say china or a R.O.C.

The muddy guy who needs a shower quick, my truck just got a pre wash, will finish cleaning it tomorrow.

Regarding the stick thing, yeah good idea, will think about it

Pretty much how mine ended up, the front half sunk, the rear on dry land. You should count your blessings, my incident resulted in a tranny full of water ($1800) and about $3000 worth of body damage at the hands of an idiot tow driver (at least a bigger idiot than the one who got it stuck in the first place).

I've come to realize off roading is as much about common sense as it is equipment. This year I go out with a good winch, and I'll use the stick. The hole I got into was deep enough to let the fan slap water but had a rut ridge running right down the center so it didn't look all that deep.

Wonder who got it stuck in the first place, you or another driver

So what did that towing guy do to damage you truck? Anyway, yeah, I consider myself lucky because that one surprised the heck out of me. The funny part was my son who could not get out of the truck..

It is true that I learned a lot in the first place from off-roading in Arizona. I was playing a lot in the rocks and rivers which is not always a good idea. Got stuck with my nissan at the time.

Have playing off-road

What comes to my mind...

Too fast to stop.... yet to slow to go.

On the trails we call that "1/2 hearted" or "indecisive driving".

A Stick?!?!?!?
No No. you found out how deep it was the most, gutsy and fun way possible. Next time just send your buddy in first though. LMAO

Send somebody through that is an idea, don't think my wife would have gone for it

it was just a surprise, I though that it would just be some regular tracks beneath the water like it was all along that trail,....wrong this time

check ALL your fluids
both diffs, transfer case, tranny , oil

Myself and others have RUINED parts by not realizing that water had gotten in thru vents in differentials or tannys etc
