I hear ya man. It hasnt snowed decent in Iowa since ive bought my sled 4 years ago! I didnt even get to go out west to wyoming this year.

This is a picture from last years trip. I hope to get a newer and bigger sled for next year if i go out west again.

1999 Yamaha Mountain Max 600

Its loaded with performance mods. Power shift kit, pipes, and many other exterior mods. It has the smart carbs that automatically adjust to elevation and temperature. It was a great sled to get into...but its just not big enough for out west to do the riding i want to do. It has a 136" track with 1.5" paddles. I was going to try to sell it on ebay but didnt seem like sleds were bringing much so i didnt waste my time.

Trails...what are those??

When we go to either Laramie, Wyoming or Bighorns, Montana we ride trails about the first few miles from the cabin and go off to the back lands. It can be scary at times when you get lost or go over a mountain and get caught in a bottom of a big bowl and cant get out. But usually we head back before 1 or 2 so we have plenty of time before it gets dark. Ive never been a big fan of riding trails. Too many crazy people doing 100 mph just flying around. We just go to do some high marking or boonedocking. Its great. Nothing beats the scenery!

i tried the "off the trail " into the deep powder last yr

we were crusing near dixville peak and decided to go "up there"
i got 3/4 of the way up the hill and had to go between 2 trees
got off the throttle for a split second and that was that
what a mistake

at least i shut my sled off when in started to sink..
harry was'nt so lucky

we were stuck for 2 hrs

marc and his F-7 was having a blast riding around us..
till he sank too!

up to your ball bag in powder is no fun to dig sleds out
i think i lost 5 lbs by the time we got all 3 sleds out

but it is a blast

Ah hell.....it sucks highmarking when you get up so far its so steep and you get stuck. The first couple times i did it i didnt get the sled turned around once my track was slipping and i learned shortly after. Nobody else could help me dig out. As soon as they got up to the top then would either roll their sled or slide back down. That will make a person loose some weight haha. If i knew i was going to get stuck i backed off right away. I didnt spin till i just sank in. Thats when you get in trouble.

Yea it's official....

I pulled the motor out of the boat last week to tighten a couple of bolts that you can only get to with the engine out. Yet they had to be tight. So did that and everything else I could possiably find that might need to be done soon, but could only be done with the engine out. Tinkered around with it today and got it all finished up, now got a friend coming over tomarrow to help me drop the engine back in. If all goes well then I'll be speeding around the lake tomarow afternoon on the test run. Then if weather holds, I'll be cruising/speeding/racing around the water ways next weekend.

I can't wait!!!
Also can't wait till the water warms up so I can take my new jet ski out.

aren't you lucky-- we've still got the sleds out on the lake with the ice fishing huts... will be about another 2 weeks before full thaw, and 2 months before i dare pull the jet ski back out on the lake without a dry suit...

Guys have been going out with wet suits for about a month now.
This is my first ski, I dont have a suit and water temp is still 47°, the air is still only 79°.
So I will wait til air and water are both a little warmer before I dump myself in it. I have rode wave runners but never rode on one of these stand ups. So I am confident that I will spend as much time in the water as I do on it the first several times.
