scumbags messing with my truck

The other day a couple of guys from work chased two scum bags away from my truck. They said the two drove by several times parked, both got out . one went up to my truck and the other stayed at the car.
They were chased off as buddy yelled at them.

Makes me wonder if they were after the truck or after the cd player . The lightnings have fords 6 disk cd player and as we all know they can be removed in a minute.

Anyhow I now park around the other side where there is more traffic but a longer walk. JERKS....

Any one know how easy it would be to steal my truck?

Well that sucks! No damage to your truck though, right? Like trying to get into the lock or anything?

dont know how easy it is, but you might try and make it harder. better security system, maybe one of those starter disconnect switches or something to that matter. I was going to suggest a battery disconnect switch, but then an alarm wouldnt work..(would it?)

If you hooked the alarm up before the switch, but it's better just to put a battery kill switch on the starter. Your radio and computer need full time power. Radio will lose time and computer, then your transmission learns driving style and performs to maximize effeciency and perfomrance for your driving style. It takes it 100 miles after you have disconnected the battery for 30 seconds or more to be back to normal.

Well, my friend's jeep cherokee was in the body shop for a few days getting something fixed. He had a nice amount of audio equip in the jeep such as 12" subs, an amp, and a nice pioneer cd player. To make a long story short, the night he got it back from the shop, it was parked in his driveway and someone broke into it and stole all his stereo equipment. They got into it by drilling a hole right under the key hole in the passenger side door, then what they did fromt here i do not know. We all believe that it was someone from the body shop, but we have no proof at the moment.

I have had this truck for two years now and this is the first time , that I am aware of that any one has tried to miss with it.

My old 98 truck was broken into twice, once with a low teck aproach by breaking the window. Be aware that the falling glass shards scratch the door paint and also gets into the dash vents, you hear the glass hren you go over bumps, pot holes...

The second time they disabled the lock cylinder. easy quiet and fast. Replacement parts are under $50.00.

I talked with the mechanic at the dealer ( also race with him) and he tells me that there are two systems in operation. 1) the anti-theft chip in the key and 2) the computer when one or the other is tampered with the other shuts down..

I am considering an alternative system...just leave the line lock on...

In all honesty if someone really wants to steal a vehicle there is nothing to prevent them from doing so. No security system will stop someone that really wants it. The systems on the market just make it more difficult for the morons out there but then when they get pissed off they usually just start beating the crap out of something to get it or let out their frustration of not being able to get it.

If you really want to know where you vehicle went after being stolen and your really good with plastic explosives you could strategically place about 10lbs of plastic explosives to go off and one way or the other you’ll find out where it ended up at.

You’ll either hear a loud bang or hear about it on the news. At least you’ll get satisfaction that the car thief’s will never be able to steal another automobile…

Rig it up with a 10 minute timer, that way it should be a safe enough distance away from you. If it isn't disabled in the 10 mins.... KAPOWEE!

I like it!!!!
I like it alot!!!

I would love to be able to rig my truck up so the doors lock and a canister of teargas goes off inside, or a can of skunk stink. Then call the cops and unlock the doors when they get there to bust the bums.

There was a comedian about 12 years ago or so. I can't remeber who it was... He had a joke that he wanted a de-sacked pet skunk.
Why???
1. It would be a great conversation piece.
2. Great home security.
3. Best car security you can get. You could put the most sophisticated alarm on a chevette. Park it next to a Corvette with no alarm, windows down, keys in the ignition and a skunk in the seat. A thief is going to fight the alarm and take the chevette over driving off in the corvette with the skunk.
