Expert Excel question

So my boss showed me a spreadsheet that has a whole bunch of Credit card numbers in a column. The problem is; on many of the cells; it forces the last digit in the cell to be a 0. You can try and change it but it always goes back to 0. I even put the column in Note pad; made a change; and tried to re-paste. Same thing; the changes did not stick but turned back into 0.

My guess is it is in the formatting of the cells. Make sure it is not set to custom or anything like that

Format the cell(s) as text, Excel leaves the cell as entered or typed, also the adding the ' works, but if you need it for reports will look off.

Email it to me, I'll see if I can fix it, then e-mail it back.

Yes, formatting to number with no decimal is the way to go, then you can align to either left or right, select your column by putting the mouse at the top of the column and clicking on it (the whole column should turn a different color) and then right click, format cells will get you to the number and alignment that you need.

Just as well, my next thread was going to be "What mods should I do with unlimited resources?"
