Do you season your melons?

Funniest thing just happened.... a colleague came by my desk to chat while I was eat my breakfast. I got to the honeydew and proceeded to prepare it the way I always do.... with salt & pepper. My colleague stopped in mid sentence and just stared at my bowl. At first I thought OMG is there a ****roach on it or something? But then she commented on the seasoning. She had never heard of doing that. I salt & pepper both cantaloupe & honeydew. I also salt my watermelon & green apples but don't use pepper. YUMMMY!!!!

Anyone else out there do this?

Salt yes! My wife thinks I'm crazy and won't even try it, granted she doesn't like cantaloupe. I'll have to try that pepper now, hadn't thought of that one.

You know I love salty and sweet like salt in chocolate milk or syrup on sausage, but I can't take it on fruit. My parents do that crap all the time.

I'll leave my naughty comment to myself about seasoning melons

But as Vince Vaughn said..."I love maple syrup on everything!"

No salt or pepper on any fruit or melon. It is best to limit your salt intake. I eat jalapenos with about all veggies and meat. That is all the seasoning you need.

I was thinking the same.

Maybe some salt on the melons prior to a body shot of tequila

When I worked in Thailand, they would put out a bowl with a mixture of sugar, salt and dried chilli flakes for you to dip fresh fruit (usually pineapple or mango) into.

Pretty tasty actually
