Supercab vs. Supercrew

I am currently in Iraq. I sold my 98 f-150 Supercab before going on my 18 month vacation with the army. I am purchasing a new one but want to have it when I get back right away. Just can't decide on the supercab or the supercrew. Took a look at them on leave about 7 months ago but thought I would ask you guys about the room. Thought I could save a few bucks with the supercab again. I have two kids, 5 and 3. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Five years of payments would be two kids, 10 and 8.
Supercrew would mean the back of your seat not getting kicked for the next five years.

I had a Supercab before the Supercrew I have now.
The problem with little kids is that they grow into bigger kids
Go for the Supercrew just for the extra room if you can afford it.
Also, you don't need to open the front doors to open the back which is a big bonus.

Yeah with two kids I would opt for the supecrew, unless you really could use the extra bed space. I believe the new supercrews now have the option for a 6.5' bed?

On a side note, Thanks for your service.

My kids are 20 and 22 and 5'11" and 6'1" tall. I've had the supercab 9 years and they still sit in the back if they go somewhere with us. Can they fit? Yes. Is it roomy? No. My wife also had a mini van and SUV during that time also which meant we didn't always use the truck.

Go for the supercrew! You won't be disappointed! You wont have to monkey around with those half doors! I have 3 kids and it is the perfect vehicle. Hang loose though, All of the manufacturers will be giving incentatives again shortly. I think they did it at the end of May/beginning of June. Thanks for your service too.

I've had two supercabs and now a supercrew. I prefer the extra cab space to the extra bed space. I have found that there are very few times that I need the extra bed space, but I always using the extra cab space. Make sure that you get the bed extender it is well worth the money.

I honestly dont think there is that much more room in the back or a SCREW. I know the seat bottom is maybe a 1" longer from front to back compared to the SCAB, but other than that, I cant see enough room gained to warrant the extra money. The only thing I would say, is that it would be easier to get the kids in and out of the back seat in tight places. The SCAB can be a little awkward at times. But for me..NO KIDS..WOO HOO...SO I dont give a crap. And I hate when ppl sit in my back seat anyway. Think about if you need the extra bed space, which I do. Although you can get the longer bed in the SCREW now, its more money. ANd you mentioned you would like to try to save a few bucks on the truck. Plus, IMO I think the SCREW long bed is fugly...way to big and goofy looking for me.

But again..this is all Just my opinion.

First, HOOAH and thanks for your service. Second, get the SCREW. I have one and althought my 5 year old CAN reach out and kick the back of my seat the extra room in the cab is better.

I suppose if you really want extra cab room you could get a superduty crew cab. The ride isn't as nice and they don't have the middle shoulder harness in the back. We saw a new 05 a couple weeks ago that the dealer was offloading for 33k. It was a diesel short bed 4x2. A gas version would be cheaper without the 5k in the diesel engine. The 05 had an extra 2k in manufact. rebates FYI.

Shut up. You dont know what your talking about and your just jealous of my SCREW.

No honestly Brew and i measured out back seats and i believe my supercrew seat was like an inch or two wider than his. The main difference is the leg room. The supercrew will have much more than the supercab. If you want i suppoce we could measure this too.
