Anyone In Alaska in July?
Anyone In Alaska in July?
Heading back up to Alaska for some fishing and tourist stuff. Going to rent a camper then off to Denali area for a cpl days then down to the Kenai peninsula (Soldotna, Kenai river) for some fishing. Going to fly up there but if theres someone in the area maybe we can at least grab a beer or two!
Well, if that ain't just great?? I'm sure you'll find someone in Alaska in July. If there isn't then I'm stumped on where everyone driving up the Alaska Highway at that time of year goes to after they hit the Beaver Creek Customs station? Could there be the appearance of the July Black Hole?
If you're going to be in the area of Denali National Park, check this place out:

I'll be back home in Fairbanks, about 120 miles north of Denali. Depending on the days you are there, I will either be working on building our home, or at work in Prudhoe Bay.
Skinny ****s Halfway Inn is just south of Fairbanks on the Parks. I've never been there but have driven by it hundreds of times. It looks a little run down now, but from what I hear, it is a decent bar. The Monderossa is a little closer to Denali and has some awesome burgers. It used to be right on the Parks, but they rebuilt the road, so you have to take a side road to get there. Definately worth stopping there for lunch or dinner if you are near the area.
If you plan to be in or around the Fairbanks area, let me know. Lots of stuff to do in Fairbanks, including the River Boat Discovery Tour, Santa Clause House, and the Alaska Salmon Bake at Pioneer Park. You can do all those in one day if you plan for it.

We are flying into Anchorage July 18th (midnight). Gonna sleep a few hrs, pickup the camper and head North a cpl of days, then heading down to Soldotna to do some fishing.
