Talking Test For Dummies

Here's another test for y'all. I'll post the answers tomorrow night. . .

Passing requires at least 4 correct answers


1)How long did the Hundred Years' War last?

2)Which country makes Panama hats?

3)From which animal do we get catgut?

4)In which month do Russians celebrate the October Revolution?

5)What is a camel's hair brush made of?

6)The Canary Islands in the Pacific are named after what animal?

7)What was King George VI's first name?

8)What color is a purple finch?

9)Where are Chinese gooseberries from?

10)What is the color of the black box in a commercial airplane?

Hundred year war.....was 116 years.

Black box data/voice recorder on aircraft is......bright orange.

I think "cat gut" is commonly used in surgery to suture open wounds.....which I think is actually "silk", which comes from spiders. I'm only guessing on this?

Panama hats are made in Ecuador.

October Revolution is in....November.


Thats all I have for now, gotta get back to work.

Most sutures are synthetic now, catgut is actually made from sheep intestines (most of the time). And silk has been used for sutures as well but these days it's mainly synthetic.

(the joys of working in a small hospital...see these packages everwhere
when I'm doing something in surgical areas or ER, get bored and read stuff
you never thought you would read before....)

I have to confess that I didn't get 100% on this test but Google was not involved in my answers!!
