Hundred year war.....was 116 years.

I think "cat gut" is commonly used in surgery to suture open wounds.....which I think is actually "silk", which comes from spiders. I'm only guessing on this?

Most sutures are synthetic now, catgut is actually made from sheep intestines (most of the time). And silk has been used for sutures as well but these days it's mainly synthetic.
