I-Pod Help?

I bought a Ipod Nano off of someone so of course I didn't get any cables or paperwork with it. I bought the cable to charge/sync with the computer and its charging right now, but it says do not disconnect? Does this just mean its not done with its charging cycle? and to let it complete it? When I got the Ipod, the battery was dead so Im just curious.

My Ipod always says that and I never listen to it

If your just charging it you can unplug it anytime, just dont do it while it is syncing

There is a setting in the IPod preferences that changes this.

I dont have it in front of me so this off memory....

In Itunes...

Right click on the icon of your ipod on the left and go to preferences

There is a check box that talks about "use ipod as drive" or show up in my computer as drive...something like that. If that box is checked you need to right click on the ipod and click disconnect or the "do not disconnect" never goes away. If you dont care about the drive letter bit...uncheck that box and once the sync is done that message will go away

It is going to sync with your music library in iTunes, it will automatically delete whatever is on there.

Don't reccommend disconnecting it when it says not to. Can pooch the hard drive. The best way to get that to stop is simply to click on the eject sign next to the name of your ipod in iTunes.

I clicked on 'Update Songs on Ipod' but it didn't work, all of the old songs are on there.

you need huklbery's link to pull the songs off the ipod- standard itunes will only upload songs to the ipod, it can not/will not pull them off an ipod- its ghey.
