New to the site, looking for tips

Brand-newbie to this site and not sure where to post my question, so I thought I'd start here.

My apologies if this has been covered before, but what performance/economy/appearance tips and tricks can you guys & gals recommend? What stuff or combinations of things have you done that you felt were worthwhile or worth the money? I'd like to start with some pretty low-buck stuff.

I have an '04 SC FX4 5.4.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome in to the nut house!!

Check out the 04-06 forum. There is a wealth of information in there.

Do a search, the most popular mods include Autospring leveling kit, cold air intakes, exhaust, Edge or XCal2 tuning programmers, and of course wheels and tires.

Myself, I haven't done any of these yet so I couldn't give you any advice based on personal experience.

Welcome!

As Wildcat says, there are all sorts of threads about mods in the other forums on the site. Try searching through the Aftermarket forums and see what others have done. There are so many different kinds of mods you can do, it really depends on where you want to go. Are you looking for. . .lift? lowering? leveling? audio systems? lighting? bedliners? interior stuff? wheels/tires? exhaust? engine mods?. . .There is a wealth of info all over the site on whatever you want to do!! Good luck

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, and I apologize for the delayed response. I usually only can get on the net during my lunch at work.

Not really looking to lift or modify the suspension at all, just looking to increase power & economy, improve the looks, pretty normal stuff.

This is my first Ford product (longtime GM man), and overall I'm pretty satisfied so far (I'm at about 22K). The only complaint I really have is the stock tires (I've got the 18" BF Rugged Terrains). They seem to flat spot when parked out in the cold, and give some vibes at highway speed. Oh yeah, stay away from the power sliding rear window. Other than that, just a couple minor recalls.

I'll try to post some pics as soon as I figure out how.

Try parking in the Yukon or Alaska. Then you will know what the flat spots really are. They don't go away until you hit the 10 mile mark. Until then, hold on to your kidneys.
